Advantages Advantages A fantastic phone you'll find difficult to bore of

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Nasty earphones

I have had the strong urge to purchase a new mobile phone for a few months now; I have always been a gadget boy. Amazingly for the technological revolution going on in mobile phones at the moment, very little is about. The sort of phones I go for tend to be at the higher end of the price bracket. I looked at many different phones but none have compared in my eyes to the W550i. For me when I first saw this phone I knew it would be mine. I first saw the W550i last year, I was immediately struck by its colour a very bright orange. The W550i was the very first Sony Walkman phone, since the W800i ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Charger cap comes off too easily

I just simply have to write a review on the Sony Ericsson W550i phone because it is an awesome phone. At the time when it first came on the market in 2005, I was working for a mobile phone company, and it was the easiest phone to sell out of all of the possible options on our network. The reason for this is that the phone has a wide variety of functions, an incredibly good battery life, and is cheaper than the other Sony Ericsson phones of a similar quality. The key features of the phone are: 1.3 megapixel camera. This is a good standard of camera, though there are phones on the market with a ... more

    Advantages Advantages compact, reliable

Disadvantages Disadvantages Buttons may be too small for some people

I got this phone about 4 months ago second hand, and I have to say I was very impressed. Being the first Walkman phone released by Sony Ericsson I wasn't expecting much, but I was wrong. It's a tidy little phone; with the 180 degree twisting function in 2 directions makes it very stylish! All the files on this phone are transferred using the data cable for the pc, which is provided, or a blue tooth or infrared adapter for you pc. Walkman Starting off with the main factor of the phone, the Walkman! The Walkman on the w550i is very easy to use. The walkman features the option to create play ... more

Advantages Advantages Great sound, Great look... Great!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Unlocks in your pocket a little too easily.

I have had this mobile phone come mp3 player for 4 months now, and it has been brilliant. I can't really complain about any aspect of the design. One of the main things that i love about the phone is simply the way it looks! It features a rare 'swivel' method to reveal the key pad which has a great feel. This design also feel very strong and sturdy, and mine hasnt snapped in half yet! The design of the phone is quite chunky which may be unsightly to some people, but i personally think it gives a little bit more to love! In reality, its not huge in comparisson to other mobile phones, as the ... more

Advantages Advantages Cool Phone, MP3, Loads of Features =D

    Disadvantages Disadvantages The Software :(

-- The Start of a better (phone) life -- Unfortunately my other phone had died a painful death. Fortunately for me, I could go down to the Carphone Warehouse and get a new one. I wanted a phone like my last one except better and with more features but i didn't want to spend loads of cash. So when i saw the Sony Ericsson W550i and it's price (£140, probaly cheaper now), i knew i wanted it. -- Sony Ericsson W550i -- -- Design -- The design was the first thing that caught my attention about the phone. It looked a bit chunky for being ( hieght ) 3.6 x ( width ) 1.8 x ( depth ) 0.9 inches ( 93 x 47 ... more

Advantages Advantages great look, loads of function

Disadvantages Disadvantages none that i can think of, I just loves it ;)

I've never really care about gadgets or technology. For me, as long as something serve it's purpose, nice to look at (so that I can show off to my friend) and easy to handle, that's good enough for me. I don't really need that camera on my phone. It's good if it's there, but it doesn't really matter if it's not there. But, having a boyfriend who talks about new gadgets all the time, I've started to pick things up a bit. Still, looks comes first. (trust a woman to make a choice ;p ) I was trying to get a new mobile phone contract, and was looking through different deals to find the cheapest one ... more

Advantages Advantages Totally amazing phone, brilliant features

Disadvantages Disadvantages Awful earphones and the swival action could get annoying

The time finally came around to get my o2 upgrade this week- I lost my Samsung D500 two weeks ago so I was excited about getting a new phone. I was a little disappointed with the selection of free phones I could choose from but I eventually decided on the Sony Ericsson W550i. I had been a little concerned about the look of the phone - the garish orange covers and weird arial at the top almost put me off - but I'm so glad I wasn't swayed away! Opening the box I found: the phone (obviously), charger, battery, handsfree kit, PC Suite CD, USB data cable, a set of white fascia's and the manual ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages No external Memory, Camera is not great

I have had this phone since last january now, so I'm not entirely sure whether it is still available to buy new. However thought I would give my opinion on it anyway. Its a compact phone with a flip out keypad, is very stylish and has most of the features you need. As I have mentioned the phone is over a year old now, so a little out of date with some of the more recent advances in technology but it does still offer a lot. Some of the Good: Bluetooth - share music, pictures, videos etc with your friends Mp3 Playback - use your favourite tracks as ringtones, texts, alarms etc also has a walkman ... more

This phone is really easy to use I have never owned a Sony Ericsson phone before, previously being very loyal to Nokia. When my contract was due for renewall I had a good look at all the phones that were on offer and found that Nokia seemed to be lagging behind most others in the price range( when I say price range I mean the range of phones on offer as an upgrade that would't cost me anything). Most other phones have a smaller memory which can be expanded with smart cards, the fact that the W550i memory can't be expanded can be seen as a bad thing but memory cards can cost as much as £40. As ... more
