...W550i was the very first Sony Walkman phone, since the W800i has been launched which has an expandable memory, but to me it does not have the unique look of this phone. I purchased the W550i from The Link, the price was £179.99 and it comes on the 02 Network.

...write a review on the Sony Ericsson W550i phone because it is an awesome phone.
At the time when it first came on the market in 2005, I was working for a mobile phone company, and it was the easiest phone to sell out of all of the possible options on our network. The reason for this is that the phone has a wide variety of functions, an incredibly good battery life, and is cheaper than the other Sony Ericsson phones of a similar quality.
The key ... ...Unlike some of the other Sony Ericsson phones, the W550i has a 256mb internal memory which allows for several mp3s to be added to the phone. Many phones claim to have MP3 players, but unless the memory is substantial this is effectively useless as MP3s take up a significant amount of memory.

...was the p910i, also a Sony Ericsson. For me, the W550i is just the right size, as it is small enough for your pocket, and big enough not to be easily lost or missplaced.
The colours of the phone are great too. The facia that is fitted on the phone as standard is bright metalic orange, which is quite funky. The design was the first thing that caught my attention about the phone. It looked a bit chunky for being ( hieght ) 3.6 x ( width ) 1.8 x ( depth ) 0.9 inches ( 93 x 47 x 22.5 mm ). The sony Ericsson W550i is very durable and strong. My phone has been dropped a few times and now has some minor scratches. I'm sure you can buy some kind of case for it to prevent the phone from scratching.

I wasn't entirely sure how to open the phone at first, as you have to slide it from the top of the phone 180 degrees down before you can access the keypad. ...I eventually decided on the Sony Ericsson W550i.
I had been a little concerned about the look of the phone - the garish orange covers and weird arial at the top almost put me off - but I'm so glad I wasn't swayed away! To use the "radio" feature you have to insert your handsfree kit as the connector acts as the radio aerial. I'm not sure if this is common or not. I'm disappointed by this though - I didn't realise I'd have to carry a cable around just to listen to the radio. The "camera" is 1.3 mega pixels. This is the same as my D500 but the W550i seems to take a clearer photograph. The best improvement here though is that ...

I have had this phone since last january now, so I'm not entirely sure whether it is still available to buy new. However thought I would give my opinion on it anyway.
Its a compact phone with a flip out keypad, is very stylish and has most of the features you need. As I have mentioned the phone is over a year old now, so a little out of date with some of the more recent advances in technology but it does still offer a lot. Some of the Good:

...I have never owned a Sony Ericsson phone before, previously being very loyal to Nokia. When my contract was due for renewall I had a good look at all the phones that were on offer and found that Nokia seemed to be lagging behind most others in the price range( when I say price range I mean the range of phones on offer as an upgrade that would't cost me anything).
