When you're out and about, you can have your favorite music with you wherever you go. And your picture library and favorite Web sites. W580i is for active people.
Advantages: Feature-packed Disadvantages: Connection port open to the elements. Camera doesn't set me alight!
...THE PHONE!
Ah yes - the Sony Ericsson W580i, another of CW's end-of-line 'can't seem to shift 'em' clearance bargains, hence the cash-back. Last week you could have had an Acer laptop instead of the cash-back but guess what? They're worth about the same as the cash-back, what a surprise!
Comparisons may well be odious, but relevant nonetheless. At this stage in the game, there are certain aspects of the new phone that are inferior to the old ...

Advantages: Good looking phone, great music features, easy enough to use Disadvantages: There are a few design faults that need to be ironed out
...I have had have been Sony Ericssons. A couple of years ago, I would have gone for the Nokias every time - they look pretty and I knew the functions on it were pretty good. However, two years ago I ended up with a rather chunky looking black Sony ericsson, it was a bit of a boys phone but I wanted a phone that had a decent music feature and at the time (and its probably still true now) the Sony Ericsson was the best option.
So two years on, I've opted ...

Advantages: Good features, good battery life Disadvantages: buttons are starting to crack
I got this phone for Christmas. I chose it myself after my Motorola Pebl was no longer working efficiently (I was charging it everyday and it didn't have enough power to make a phone call!)
So far I really love this phone. I have never had a sliding phone before so this is still a novelty and I like the fact that it is pink (exclusive to Orange).

Advantages: looks good, great features Disadvantages: poor battery, one key cracked already!
Sony Ericsson W580i Walkman
My Sony Ericsson W580i was purchased through mobiles.co.uk on the orange network as they were offering the best deal at the time. If you've read my review on my iron you will know that I love all things pink and my W580i is the pink version, they are also available in black, white and red. Orange was the only network I could find that were doing the pink W580i and I wouldn't go for a different brand of phone because ...

Advantages: Trendy colours... light... Disadvantages: pay for games, stiff buttons and slide.
...my mothers opinion) on the Sony Ericsson W850i (Pink).
Firstly, the W580i is a very attractive looking mobile phone. Something you would be proud to own. At 3.9 x 1.9 x 0.6 inches it is a relatively large phone compared to many on the market these days but still not too much of a handful. Bear in mind it is also a slide style phone so the size does takes that into consideration. It feels very light to hold and weighs 94.0 gr. So yes, very light ...

Advantages: Nice Look and Feel Disadvantages: Poor Camera
This phone is aesthetically nice, I have this in the pink, and functionally it performs fairly well. I bought this as an 'upgrade' to the w800i, but aside from the fact that it is a slimmer design, it does not offer much more interest than that.
The camera is of the same picture quality, with the additional ability to record for longer video sections than the w800i. The downside of the camera is that it needs a much steadier hand in order to produce ...

I have the white version of this mobile phone, it is on the o2 network pay as you go. When i first boughtthis mobile phone from the o2 shop, i had plenty of problems with it, the memory card wouldn't work, the back cover is hard to put on and the simcard is fiddly to put in, i had to use a pen to push it into place till it clicked in. I sent it back to the o2 shop who agreed with me that there have been problems with a big batch of them. He replaced ...

...stylish. Ive never had a sony Ericsson phone before so was abit aprehensive about changing from my usual nokia. I went to the Orange shop and they were very helpful. It cost me £89.99 and i had to buy £10 top up with that so a total cost of £99.99.
In my opinion the phone looks the business. I have the grey and blue version, its looks really neat. It has lights on the side of the phone which change colour, a really nice feature. The phone is packed ...

...basicly, because I wanted the Sony W910i, but couldn't afford lol. I picked this up for about 100 quid, (w910i is about 200 quid) and was not expecting much because of the low price. However, having compared it with the W910i, this one does basicly exactly the same, but for half the price. Bargain! I also think that this one actually looks better, although it is perhaps more suited to a female as is not as wide as the w910i, and the buttons are very ...

...very disappointing!!!!!
First of all the Sony Ericsson W580i comes with a 512MB memory card and a 2.0 mega pixel camera. This obviously means that there is alot of space for pictures, music and video files. The picture quality is also brilliant too.
The menu's are easily accessable and is practically the same as other Sony Ericsson mobile phones.
On the Sony Ericsson W580i you can listen to the local radio station, Play the Games (My phone ...

Advantages: good for music and entertainment in general. Pedometer feature and shake feature v good Disadvantages: pricey and buttons can be annoying at first
I had never had a sony ericsson before and some how i got the impression that they would have been complicated to use. How wrong I was!! Being strictly a nokia buyer in the past i had felt a little aprehensive about this purchase. I got the phone for around 150 pounds in Argos which was a special deal on pay as you talk vodafone.
I was surprised at the slim body of the phone as sony ericssons in the past have been chunky. It fits very nice in the ...

Advantages: easy to use, looks good Disadvantages: Poor Camera
...is the case with most Sony Ericsson phones and the moving backgrounds on the home screen and the menu screen look good but do add to the battery loss.
The phone also has a pedometer which forms part of a fitness feature on the phone. This basically tells you how far you've walked / run and the amount of calories it has burnt off. A pretty useless thing but still quick funky none the less.
In terms of call alerts, the ringtones are sufficiently ...

...is somewhat simlar to the Sony PS3, remarkably simple to use, the sound quality poduced is brillaint, exteremly loud from such a small phone. Its a pocket size boombox. Also included in the walkman feature is a shake control system which involes you holding down a button and flicking your wrist. This then changes the song you are listeing too.
