...went for another W class Sony Ericsson. Well Sony's on the whole seem well made, and I was blaming the the phone style (a slider) for the easy damage. This sort of a decision wasn't made easily for £80, but I swollowed it, through gritted teeth after spending the previous 4 hours going from phone shop to phone trying to pick the best one for me.
After twice going into "The Link" and getting told "The only phone that really does all you want is this, ... ...better) and was preferably a Sony or a Samsung (due to me being familar with the interfaces of both, and being a stubborn bastard in my now well known "old age"). So finally popping into a Vodafone store, and had a genuinely interested and helpful sales assistant show me the offers, talk me through them etc. What was different about this bloke is he didn't push me towards a specific phone, he didn't try to hide any of the phones downfalls, and he ...

Sony Ericsson W610i
Design & Feel
The Design of the phone is very nice, it is a very pleasing phone to look at and comes in two different colours. It comes in black and orange which looks very nice or you can go for more subtle colour scheme of silver and black. I have the black and orange because in my opinion that is the better looking colour scheme but both versions are attractive. For some reason Sony Ericsson have opted for very small buttons ... ...phone is the latest in Sony Ericsson's Walkman range and is the successor to the very popular W810i. This phone is built for music and has special keys dedicated to music playback. It is very very easy to use and all you have to do to add music to this phone is plug it into the pc and put music on the phone, it is that easy. It will take various different audio formats which is useful. The phone also comes with a 512mb m2 card so you can fit about ...

Advantages: Battery Life. Best Sound Quality for MP3 in a phone. Disadvantages: Tiny Buttons.
I bought the Sony Ericsson W610i for many reasons, and I must say that it fulfilled my expectations on all accounts, and actually surpassed a few.
The W610i is basically a phone and an MP3 player merged, with no compromise to either system. Even listening to music through it's tiny speaker, I was surprised at how great the sound was... Gone are the days of tinny ringtones. That is the first thing I love about this phone: No longer having to search ... ...was tired of carrying both my mobile and my normal MP3 player around with me, so the idea of combining the two seemed like a great idea. I saw the adverts and did a little research and made up my mind that this was the phone for me. It was stuck firmly in my price range and had all the neat tricks it needed.
First of all, the navigation of the phone is really easy to use, but confusing if you're switching straight over from a Motorola phone; the ...

Advantages: Battery. Stylish. Disadvantages: Little buttons.
I had previously owned a Sony Ericsson phone, and hated it. I'm not sure why but I did. When my contract expired, I rang my network and asked what phones were currently available within my budget. I explained that there was No Way that I would Ever have another Sony Ericsson. To cut a long story (and phone call) short...I ended up ordering the Sony Ericsson W610i as it had the better battery life. I figured that as a mobile was originally intended ... ...this little phone, but the above covers my daily, personal experience.
Overall: Good looking phone. Durable when dropped. Has all the modern conveniences of every other mobile. Good battery life QUICK recharge. Doesn't have the problems my old Sony Ericsson did. Would recommend to anyone. ...

Advantages: slim, looks good, great battery life. Disadvantages: dust gets under screen quite easily.
I have had my sony ericsson w610i mobile phone for about a year now. before this phone i had a w800i and before that a nokia. over the years i have swayed back and forth between nokia and sony ericsson and have come to the conclusion that the sony ericsson interface and style is more to my taste.
For starters with the w610i you have to admit it is a pretty aesthetically attractive phone. very slim and with that black and metallic orange colour scheme ... ...some really nice shots. the sony ericsson interface is really good. everything layed out simply on the main menu page with nice colourful logos which are pleasing to the eye. the functions are good with internet, games, Track ID etc. the track ID function being particularly cool. it can tell you the name of a song and artist by playing a few seconds of a song into the microphone. it is always good when you just cant remember the name of that song!

...Ericsson or the later branded Sony Ericsson telephones for nearly fifteen years now. I have always been impressed with the build quality. Working in the construction industry and spending a lot of time outdoors I need a phone that will withstand light to medium blows or drops. The W610i is a pretty phone, black front, orange back, about 25 to 30mm thick by about 100mm high, so small enough to fit in your shirt pocket. There are quite a lot of features ... ...a room.
Anyone used to Sony Ericsson products will find this phone simple to use a "toggle" type switch on the front gives access to the main menu allowing access to phone book, calendar, camera settings etc. If you have been used to other brands, Nokia etc, it may be a bit more frustrating, the answer button being in the wrong place, but I would think you will be used to it after a day or so.
So far I think Sony have at long last corrected the ...

...lot of my friends owned Sony Ericsson phones which I liked and as it was coming to the end of my contract I decided to check out the Ericssons available on my tariff. It was ime to renew my contract and I was given the choice of this phone and a motorola lets just say I now really wish that I went for it. When I frist got the W610i I was really happy with it. Advantages: Easy to use, good reception Disadvantages: Buttons need to be wider as they can hurt thumbs after awhile.
I chose this phone for my Orange Phone Contract. The contract is due to expire next March and I have had this phone since September 2007. I have however encountered a few problems with it. For no apparent reason the screen turned white and I could not see anything. I had to send the phone back for this. Then about two weeks ago several of the buttons stopped working. i bought this mobile about 8 months ago, At Christmas time. Its a great slim and compact phone with a good camera and easily interactive menus. The one problem about this phone is the way its built, the back that covers the battery falls off at the slightest nudge. Other than that the phone is a great little phone that gets the job done. It also has a "track ID" system ... ...from radio or somthing similar and send it through the internet and it will send you back the whole song and artist, title etc..the buttons on the phone are different as they are just smalllines of plastic, hard to text with but you soon get used to it. overall i think this phone is a great piece of technology that gets the job done and more. so overall i would say about 8/10 ...

Advantages: Stylish, great music player, comes with decent sized memory card Disadvantages: Buttons perhaps too small
I've had this phone for a few days now and so far I'm very impressed by it.
By far, the highlight of this phone is the music player (unsuprising really as this is a Walkman phone). Simply press the Walkman button and you have instant access to your tracks. The sound quality is amazing and the 'megabass' option adds real drive to your music. The headphones provided are very good, and also allow you to listen to the built in radio.
The phone comes ... ...and also has a very good auto focus feature. Videos can also be taken and viewed on the phone, at reasonable quality.
The phone itself is very robust and looks and feels like a well built phone. I personally love the glossy black front and I think it compliments the vibrant 'plush orange' back nicely.
The only (very slight) criticism is the tiny buttons, but so far they haven't become a big problem for me. The size of the buttons may put off heavy ...

I've owned most brands of mobile, and it's always a compromise when you buy a new phone. I like this phone, but find imputting the letters in a text very slow and mistake-ridden. The camera is ok, but video is very poor and 'pixelly'. You get used to the small buttons very quickly, and I wouldn't say this is generally an issue. Battery life is average, but better than many. I prefer functionality over asthaetics, but I've had a few comments about ... ...use, and I mastered it in half an hour without reading the booklet (so it must be easy!) I had to send the first one back as it was draining the battery within 3 hours, and I believe mine isn't the first to do this, odd. I previously owned three Samsung D900s, which all had to be replaced due to poor reliability. The W610i is a replacement for the last Samsung after I refused to accept another. As they're both in the same price bracket, I'd recommend ...

...===Trackid===
TrackID was made by Sony Ericsson and Gracenote (I THINK BUT NOT SURE). One can use it to find out the name artist etc of a song by just recording the song for 10-15 seconds. Your phone than sends the sampled music to Gracenote so they can tell you what song this is. This is good if you are listening to the radio and hear a familiar tune but cannot think of the name of the song.
