Walking on Sunshine with the W880I

Advantages: Walkman, easy to use, battery life
Disadvantages: Camera isn't the best but not the worse

...card slot that takes a Sony Ericsson M2 memory card. ==…Da Music…== Of course, this phone has an MP3 player and many other gadgets to do with music. Like every Walkman phone, it has a dedicated button to flick to the MP3 player whenever you like. On this phone, it's an orange button on the left-hand slide. Just press that and the music player will just appear from nowhere. There's no limit to how many songs you can add to the playlist unlike some ...
...it to you. The Sony Ericsson website says that would get 425 hours on standby and 6 and half hours on talk time and I actually believe them. The longest, this phone ever lasted me until dying was 4 days when I had forgotten my charger when I went away. The battery may be thin and small but it sure does keep its charge. ==…All about the menu and phoning…== The menu may look different depending on what network it's on. It's a sony!

Advantages: slim, good music player
Disadvantages: tiny buttons, average camera

I've always loved Sony Ericsson (henceforth referred to as SE) phones, as they have great features and are usually pretty reliable. One thing that's often let them down though is that they just ain't that pretty. Well, SE have finally woken up and begun to deal with this problem. The w880i is a lovely looking phone, with its brushed stainless steel silver front (or black if you prefer), and its matt black plastic back (say that ten times fast!) (Oh, ...

...becoming a long line of Sony Ericsson phones. Mr Sony Ericson the 1st was my W800i and we had a ball together, I pushed his buttons he vibrated in my pocket we got along great, until tragedy (puts hands up starts dancing remembers who sang it and stops) struck and Mr S E went diving in the PIQ’s sink. He kind of teetered on the edge of working; his back light slowly fading to nothing, but then the condensation set in and he was a goner, all I thought ...
...so along came Mr Sony Ericson the 2nd in the name of the W810i practically the same phone with just some updated features…I was truly happy again, we took photographs and made videos together, he vibrated in my pocket, my fingers danced over his little buttons as I kept my nearest and dearest abreast of my life, passed on jokes and occasionally spoke to people…Until…. My Little Sexy Sony

Advantages: Slim, Light weight and Sexy
Disadvantages: Read Review

...I decided to get the Sony Ericsson W880i. It is only 9.4mm in thickness so fits easily into my small handbag without taking up much room and only weighs 71grams. It has a stainless steal coating that makes it look very stylish. It comes in two colours black and orange, black at the front and orange on the back, or silver and black, black at the back and silver at the front, this is the one I have. To look at the phone head on you have a screen ...
...This is the second Sony Ericsson phone I have had and they have made huge improvements to this one compared to the last one I had, for one they have got rid of the Joy Stick button which I hated because after while it stopped working. The sound of the walkman is of high quality, I found downloading music to the phone easy, it comes with a USB cable and a CD which you download onto your computer and this is where you can put the music onto your phone. ...

...am not so sure. SONY PHONES I rate Sony Ericsson phones at the top of the pile of the decent makes. They always have excellent build quality and the menus are functional and easy to use. I have progressed through the current range as and when they have come out. ...also have a K800 from Sony and reckon that if you glued together 3, yes 3 W880 phones together you would match the size of the k800. So in the W880 we have a tiny phone. As we all know though, size isn't everything so is the W880i any good? Well build quality wise and on looks, yes it most defiantly is. It looks like someone actually sat down and milled out the front cover by hand, the facia is perfectly formed and the buttons and screen merge in ...

There is something about them that is fresh and dynamic; they are a little more cutting edge perhaps without being overcomplicated. The phone is pretty robust, I tend to stick it in my pocket...bag etc...and have even dropped it a couple of times and it hasn't got a scratch on it and is still in full working order. The only complaint I have heard is that it has small buttons, I cope ok with them but I suppose if you had big hand it might be a problem. ...help compensate the pathetic camera, Sony give you a good music player. The sound is of high quality. You can listen with your headphones or with the external speaker. The player is nice and easy to get around and you'll have no trouble sorting play lists out and so on. Transferring music is simple, a little slow but simple. Easily enough space for over 100 songs. I'm pretty sure you will be able to find a bigger card if you want to use this as your main mp3 player. I think I probably would if I didn't have an iPod. The card does allow you to save pictures and videos too. But ...

...had a good experience with Sony Ericsson phones (the exception being the p990i) and this one was no different. Let me start by telling you a bit about the phone itself: The w880i is a slim and sleek phone (9.4 mm thin) with a stainless casing; or if you prefer, its also available in black & orange. Sony Ericsson W880i

Advantages: Slim, Small, mp3 Player, 3G, Very Stylish
Disadvantages: Small Buttons, Speakers, Problematic Battery?

This is the first Sony Ericsson phone I have owned and being so used to the Nokia layouts, menus and functions I was worried that I will need to spend hours learning the shortcuts, menus, functions and what have you. However, I needn't have worried. The W880i is just as easy to use as the Nokias. The menus are easy to navigate and the functions are pretty much the same as any other phone. So saying that, why is this W880i such a great phone? Well ...
...acts as a portable mp3 player as well. Great for all the music lovers out there. The phone itself has 14MB memory and thrown in is an extra 1GB external memory card. It suggests that with this amount of memory, it can store up to 900 tracks. More than ample enough memory for tunes and other stuff such as pictures and videos of nights out etc. The phone itself is stylish, slim and very light. I put it in my pocket and sometimes forget it’s even there. ...

...my last phone was a Sony Ericsson W550i, the phone served me very well untill the charger/usb/headphone port didn't want to work any more, when it broke I could no longer charge, listen to music or connect it to my PC. So I went and got the W550i, when I opened it i could not beleave how thin it was, and its looks are stunnning, Starting up my phone was easy, I put my old sim into it, and when I turned it on, it asked my to enter the time and date ...

It has a 2.0 megapixel camera, which is great for taking snaps out and about, some downsides to the camrea on the phone is that it has no flash and you can only zoom in video mode. The Walkman application on the phone is excellent, it has a layout like an iPod(artists, albums, tracks, playlists ...

SE W880i - Greatness comprimised by style!

Advantages: untra-slim, light, 2mp camera, walkman, 1GB memory
Disadvantages: tiny buttons, poor music speaker, possible poor reception*

...the latest handset from the Sony Ericsson Walkman range. I'll try and not waffle on too much about the exact spec of the phone, you can find that elsewhere. But I'll tell you from a users point of view what is good, and what really isn't. It is very light, very small, and for the first time ever I have a 3G phone that fits in my pocket without ripping the seams! I like the design. Quite simply - its nice! THE MUSIC The upside... My favourite ...
...,and also fantastic on the Sony Ericsson speakers i got with the SE V630i (how fortunate!!). But with pretty much no audible bass - even with the equilizer set to MegaBass - the sound is barely recognisable as a song! Also, this poor excuse for a Walkman phone has no FM radio unlike the rest of the Walkman range. Doesnt bother me personally as I dont like the radio much anyway. But I feel, like many others I'm sure, that radio defiantely belongs ...

The Good Points: - Good network bandwith coverage. - 3G Coverage in selected areas. - Slim and lightweight. - long battery life compared to similar sized 3G phones. - Clear, bright and vibrant screen. - VERY easy to use and understand menu and settings system. - Predictive text feature that not only predicts the word you are typing, but once that word is complete, it will often try and predict the ...

However, if you fancy an equally good, easy to use walkman phone with a good camera, that you can change tracks - start and stop tracks, etc in your pocket without removing ...

...didn't think so. So what sony have done is put some sort of intelligent sensor which adjust the right amount of light to the camera to provide a better quality picture. That said pictures taken on a sunny day always look better than in dull days or indoors, but tell me a cameraphone that is like that. The truth about w880i

Advantages: slimline, 2 mega pixel camera, walkman, 1gb memory card included
Disadvantages: battery life, camera quality, no radio

Well, what can i say about this stylish phone? Firstly, an overall good fone, reliable, good reception and due to its small sleak design, i have come to find it is also quite a hard wearing phone (as i have dropped mine a few times and it still works perfectly) i am also happy with the "rubber" back on the phone as i feel this helps with the durabilty of the phone, as the phone does look so fragile it suprisingly is not! as people have mentioned ...
...phone, but as i owned a k750 previous to this i cant help but think the camera is at a slight disadvantage to its predecessor. yes, the 2mega pixel camera is good, but without the light/flash it really struggles to take pictures within the slightest bit of darkness. along with this if the phone is not held perfectly still during the picture been taken it will almost certainly obtain a blurred picture, i did not find this as much of a trouble with ...
