Sony Ericsson W890i Walkman Phone
After years of being on Pay as you go (due to huge phone bills!) I decided in March of this year to give contract another go, especially as O2 had some great offers on the online tariffs. So off I went to the O2 website, browsed through the phones with a tendency towards Nokia as they have always been good for me, but also with an open mind to Sony Ericsson due to my last 2 phones being Sony Ericsson. Eventually ... ...you have a set of Sony Ericsson headphones you can plug them in and listen to the radio. I have tried this option and found it easy to tune in and store the stations I like, the sound quality is quite good for what you can expect from a phone, only problem I found is I don't like the headphones! So I tend not to use this option!

Advantages: Lightweight, easy to use, nice looking Disadvantages: Maybe battery life not so good, sim impossible to retrieve
...wanted to stick with the Sony Ericsson brand, and when it came time to upgrade, I saw the W890i Walkman and I knew it was the one for me - knowing it would be a model I could trust.
I'm not going to fill this review with all the technical information about the phone because to be honest, I think if you are looking for a new phone, you'll probably already have visited the various mobile phone websites and will know what features the various phones ... ...other people's experiences of new Sony Ericssons that the buttons have been a bit small and fiddly, but these ones are good size and are really easy to text with. The navigation key in the middle is also really easy to use and not too big or small.
The menu is the same as always on Sony Ericssons, and really easy to navigate through and find what you want. You just press the menu button in the centre of the navigation key and everything just pops ...

Advantages: Great features, huge memory, sleek design Disadvantages: Poor signal and battery life
...I had gotten accustomed to Sony Ericsson phones and wanted to remain with Sony Ericsson. Eventually, for a variety of reasons, I chose the W890i.
Appearance
As much as I try to tell myself otherwise, one of the key reasons for choosing the W890i was that it was aesthetically pleasing. Our desirable phones, often like humans, are often slim and striking, the W890i is one such phone. The appearance in both smart and snazzy and it is made for function. ... ...containing software. This disk contains Sony Ericsson PC Suite which makes it simple to transfer files and data to and from the phone. To conclude, the Sony Ericsson W890i is on the whole a great phone. There are a plethora of different feature which work well, a large amount of memory and a sleek design. It is hindered only by problems in relation to signal and battery life. ...

...what I want to my Sony arrived to me as part of a surprise. I had decided I could take the gamble being only a 12 month contract as it would go a lot quicker than 18 or 24 months if I didn't like it.
The advisor obviously recommended the phone to me as they would but it seemed to fit my basic requirements. I don't use my phone a massive amount so I don't really need a huge amount of great specification from a phone as I knew I wouldn't get the most ... ...small half buttons that some Sony Ericson models sport, especially on the walkman phones.
Whilst it looks like a basic phone, once you delve into the menu, you can see the depth of all the applications available to you.
Sony Ericsson for me has a great layout to their menu base. I love the way you can click through from one area and be able to scroll across the screen into sections rather than having to scroll down a large list just to find what ...

Advantages: size, looks, micro SD M2 up to 8GB! Disadvantages: So far cannot find any
...£137. Previously, I had a Sony Ericsson in the past. I must admit this is the best mobile phone I have owned so far. Looks: Nice metal like finishing, very stylish. This mobile is very small and thin and gives everything you would expect from a mobile these days. They are very small, however thanks ... ...Memory: Sony Ericsson comes with 2GB micro m2 card. It is a new generation of micro SD cards, currently with highest capacity of 8GB! Advantages: Good Camera, Great MP3 Player, Small, Easy To Use Keypad, Video Calling Disadvantages: Price
The Sony Ericsson W890i is a great phone if you're looking for a phone that's got all the essentials. It has a great 3.2 megapixel camrea, an excellent MP3 player and is very easy to use. Unlike many other phones, apart from an MP3 player this phone also carries a radio, which is useful if you're out and want to listen to the news etc. The 3.2 megapixel camera is great for when you're out and about and wish to capture that special moment or so, and ...

Advantages: Sturdy and robust case, loud ringtones. Disadvantages: freezes quite often at about a month after purchase, no light on the camera for night time photos
The Sony Ericsson w890i is a sturdy phone and would be perfect as a work phone for a construction worker. I don't want to repeat the general specifications of this model of phone as other reviewers have already done so. The earphones which come with the phone are brilliant, they have rubber nodules which fit right into the ear, although this is not to everyone's taste. The bass and the actual sound quality from both the phone and through the earphones ... ...one of the design features Sony Ericsson are known to excel in..the camera. Another is memory...this phone cannot handle fast use of the menu system or the Walkman music player being used at the same time as sending a text message, for example. Possibly due to the memory problem, I found that this phone resets quite often. It will turn off, reset then turn back on again within around 1 minute and the themes and wallpaper have been reset to the normal ...

Advantages: Size, weight, music, internet Disadvantages: battery! camera features, screen scratches easily
I've had this phone for a couple of months now and although it looks nice and is relatively durable, the screen scratches incredibly easily. My biggest problem is the battery which seems to last a maximum of 48 hours on standby! This really is terrible and which I put down to recieving a bad battery until I met a friend with the same phone and exactly the same problem. Watch out for this and get a replacement if you can. Other than that, the phone ... ...a lot more user friendly than previous phones I've had. I only wish they could have included some more of the photo features from the Cyber-Shot phones. Advantages: Apps, style, size Disadvantages: The danger of your phone being a faulty handset
This handset is functional, slim, stylish and easy to use. It is a hybrid device with a range of different mediums. With the Walkman feature, you can listen to all your favourite tunes on the go, as well as the camera/video recorder, SIMS 2 mobile game worth £5, internet, intergrated location services, MusicDJ, PhotoDJ plus much more.
The only downside is, there has been an 'pandemic' of faulty handsets.
How to spot this:
1. Your phone freezes
... ...3. You are unable to use the phone unless you take the battery out then restart it.
If this happens, please take it back to the place of purchase and they should be able to swap the handset for a fully functional one.
Aside from this issue, I love my phone, it's lasted me for months and it's compact slimline shape makes it easy to fit in your pocket/ handbag. The battery lasts for ages, no problems there.
So yes, a very good phone at a very affordable ...

I have had this phone for about six months and have never had a problem with it up til now. It has begun freezing for no reason, and turning its self off with an annoying frequency. I got this phone free with my vodafone contract. So far, I am not happy with it at all! it's worse than my old phone!!!
The phone freezes and turns itself off all the time and during calls. The other similar slim line phones also do this and a friend resolved her problem by wiping behind the battery with a cotton bud. I have tried this several times but it has made no difference to my phone. Yes it is nice and thin, lightweight, stylish and easy ... ...far too often!. I chose this phone because my other SE is a 3.2 cybershot camera and this one is a 3.2! the cybershot is the crucial word to getting a good picture. The quality of the photos from this phone are very poor and the call quality is the worst i've ever had! there is a lot of interference and the volume isn't very loud on loudspeaker either. I would not recommend paying for this phone! if my other one hadn't died i'd still be using my ...

Advantages: Numerous features...Everthing you want in a modern fone...walkman is Brilliant Disadvantages: Switches off often, poor reception, some faulty aspects
To summarize, I LOVE sony erricsons. they for me have the perfect balance between user friendliness yet still 'modernly complecated. As you would know this mobile had an earlier version..wich i personally think was better than this one if you want a reliable mobile. however, this mobile as the predicessor is obviously technologically superior with its 3.2 megapexal and it updated software. I bought this fone when it first came out and TOTALLY loved ... ...many faults, the camera didnt seem like much different from any 2 megapixel camera, its continually switches off in low signal, or wen u have ure music player on and u trying to multi task-i.e texting while listening.
