I bought this phone as an upgrade around 4-5 months ago, and have to say that despite its weight and iPod-aping white colour scheme it is one of the best phones I have used.
I guess the question is, what does it do that's so great?
APPEARANCE (vanity vanity vanity)
Like I mentioned, the phone is iPod-white, which may or may not be to everyone's taste. It is dominated by a large and crisp (252 thousand colours I'm reliably told) screen, which swivels ... ...camera and speaker, whilst another smaller camera is visible just above the screen. The actual menu interface is very clear, with large icons, but the standard theme leaves much to be desired. Fortunately additional themes are provided, including animated ones and they are easily downloadable online (sadly I've grabbed a Louis Vitton one).

To look at the W900 (i) is stylish and fun but at the same time it is a mobile phone with many capabilities. ...and I thought going with Sony Ericsson, again, would be a sure bet, after all, my old W800 was a lovely phone, surely this would top it?
Unfortunately I thought wrong. First impressions of this phone are, it's a tester. The new 'flip' technology is extremely laggy, and that's if it works at all, it's tempremental to say the least. Granted, the walkman feature has been updated, but the new 'shake to shuffle' feature is more of a 'rattle as hard as ... ...also only 2 megapixel?! Surely Sony Ericsson can do better than that, especially on a phone that's retailing at nearly £300. The quality of pictures is OK, if taken outside, and with adequate lighting. Numerous times I have taken a picture, and gone to check how it turned out, only to find it's blurry. So don't go moving your hand too quickly after taking one.

...have a play with the Sony Ericsson W910i, in a beautiful ruby red colour.
When opening the box I was faced with no excess packaging - always a god send in the green-conscious age! There were two things in the box - a smaller box which contained the manual, charger, USB cable and headphones - and a bit of plastic which contained the phone and a USB dongle (which the memory card can be slotted into - an ingenious little gadget!)

The Sony Ericsson W900i is one of the top end phones in today's market. It was released the 12th of December 2005 on the Vodafone network, but has mostly been available as a contract phone since then. ...which makes me feel that sony have gone backwards some what with the phone. Theres no real technological advances, in the phone it's self.

...think that this is where Sony Ericsson really shine, with the neatness of their menus in comparison to Nokia and Samsung etc. The menu has barely extended the T610 (my last phone) menu, except to add 3 extra options, which is fine because the screen is larger so it accommodates them easily.
Now the camera REALLY IS something else, with it's two megapixelly goodness, fantastic digital zoom, flash, contrast control, and the crazy range of frames that ... ...unbeknown reason, taking off the Sony Walkman theme was a good idea, as well as making all the games unremovable demo's, which is quite rightly frustrating. Luckily I found the theme available for free download online, but for some reason it has slowed it down a bit. (To combat the game issue I downloaded the games that I wanted and put them in the "other" folder under the files.)
I'd wholly recommend this phone to everyone. It is the best buy EVER. ...

The W900i is impressive to look at, a well styled phone. The menu system is intuitive and it is very easy to use all features of the phone without needing to refer to the user manual.
The screen is large, high resolution (for a mobile), bright and clear. Downloading and watching films is a pleasant experience.
The Walkman player is simple to use and the supplied software makes it very easy to and your own music to the phone, converting CDs to MP3 ... ...the phone has hardware accelerated 3d graphics.
Connectivity is good with SyncML, Bluetooth and USB so you can synchronize the address book and calendar easily. Also is a 3G phone.
The 2 megapixel camera takes excellent quality photos, has autofocus and a light when needed. Video quality is good and the phone can take 320x240 video and 30 frames per second.

...the Nokia I had a sony ericcson k700i and did like the phone so when I could have either choose from a Sony or Nokia decided to go with the sony W910i.
48 hours later after ordering on line my phone came I was like a little kid opening my present on christmas day.
Inside was a stylish, slim W910i, manual, charger, usb cable, headphones and usb dongle which you put your memory card in.
This mobile has the following applications.
2 mega pixels ... ...and also had usa dictionary. Now I am back with sony it stores my words instantly what a bless to me.
Overall very pleased with phone only gripe is the flat number pad and the games they are demos so you have to pay to have the games. ...

...all the same as every sony ericsson ive ever had. I was a bit disappointed that the memory card was the m2 but a usb card reader was also included which was good. A few added extras compared to the 850I are on the media player (senseme & shaker) waste of time in my opinion somthing i'll never use but faster internet is somthing which will be used. The power connection which is also the headphone connection is on the side which would be awkward if ... ...have bluetooth headphones which eradicates this problem but i have found that the bluetooth connection to my headphones is very jumpy if am walking about even if the phone is in my hands,this could be the headphones but i never had this problem with the 850i. A common problem which i have found with the 850i is that even though this is slider phone (which is very well constructed) if i put the phone into my jeans pocket it still manages to unlock ...
