Advantages Advantages Good looks, easy use, great MP3 player, built-in transmitter

Disadvantages Disadvantages Slow start-up procedure, no flash on camera

The world of mobile telecommunications these days is a complicated one. Not because of the satellites involved, or the are-they-or-aren't-they-carcinogenic transmitters that litter our landscape these days in order for us to speak and text. Nor is it complicated because of the array of different providers you can get, from a Tesco Value Pay As You Go mobile phone to a steel-clad device made by Tag Heuer. It's made complicated by trying to decide which phone to buy. These days, you can't simply walk in to your local People's Phone and ask for a mobile that will make a telephone call. Advances ... more

Advantages Advantages Sound quality, music player functionality, aesthetics

    Disadvantages Disadvantages No camera flash

This is a neat, stylish, high-spec phone. As you'd expect from the Walkman brand, it's fantastic as a music player. You can control your tracks from the touchpad on the top and the sound quality is great, especially since in-ear noise-cancelling headphones are included as standard. There are also some innovative music features such as the SensMe application that categorises your music by emotion, allowing you to instantly create playlists that match your mood. Other interesting features include a racing game that can be controlled by the motion of the phone, an application that captures how ... more

Advantages Advantages everything apart from internet

    Disadvantages Disadvantages slow internet

This is officially the best phone I've owned! ever! I am a massive fan of flip phones they just seem so convenient and handier to put away in your pocket when your not using it. Firstly I'm going to talk about the exterior.the front panel is very shiny! So shiny you can see your own face in it so ladys good news you don't need to carry a compact too ;). At the bottom of the front panel there is see-through plastic which, when your phone is playing music flashes orange! How cool! it only does this for 30 seconds or so, so it would be good if this happened for the duration of the song. Also on ... more

Advantages Advantages A Flip phone with style & a music player, with a touch screen on the Front

Disadvantages Disadvantages No flash, Otherwise a very good Phone

The W980i is an immaculate portable MP3 Player/Mobile phone. The beautifully shaped flip-phone is packed with features that will be useful and entertaining for anyone who buy's this phone, features such as a touch sensitive external body, a 3.2 MegaPixel Camera & Video recorder, 8Gb (Non-Removeable) Memory in the package should already have you interested. The W980i however is a phone that you cannot just read about, its a phone that you have to see and feel for yourself as it is a still futuristic device when it is untouched, but activate it, and its glowing orange lights light up the phone ... more

Advantages Advantages massive 8GB storage, great sound quality

Disadvantages Disadvantages easily scratchable front, average camera

This is a great, light weight phone, with a massive memory. You can store all the songs you need and even movies too, which can be easily transfered from your computer via a USB cable. It's a perfect size and looks classy and modern. The picture quality is excellent, and the sound is even better. It has all the necessary standard features and despite being a flip phone it has the modern touch screen front. For those of you who are looking for a music based phone, thats easy to use, this is the one for you. If it's more of a camera phone you want there are better ones out there for you. The ... more

Advantages Advantages touch screen buttons for playing music, mass storage

Disadvantages Disadvantages "crashes" occasionally, no flash

I would and wouldnt recommend this phone, it has good and bad points as with most products. If you can put up with your phone "crashing" every now and again then i would recommend it, other than there being no camera flash it is the only flaw I have experienced since purchasing it in september last year. The mass storage is a major bonus, but i think that is what may cause the problem where it "crashes", however when it does crash it is back to normal within 2 to 3 minutes, and it does not happen that often. The music quality of the phone is very good, i currently have no cd player in my car ... more

Advantages Advantages Walkman, 8gb internal memory, simple.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Plasticky, flimsy

I bought this phone because I had Sony Ericssons before and liked the simple interface. I wasn't blown over with it, however it still had he easy to use operating system. I have dropped it a few times, picking up some quite major scratches on the quite plasticky materials, however I don't think it's a big enough problem to turn anyone off. The battery life is fine for me as I charge my phone every night, so I wouldn't know how brilliant it is for those of you who don't charge as often as me. In my opinion it is good value for money as it comes with a dedicated walkman music player and a ... more

I tested this in Australia. It is astonishing. The wi-fi (via HSDPA) connection is phenominal making web browsing and email a pleasure. videos are great as is the whole audio set up. the headphones are really cool and relaying the sound through a bluetooth sub and satellites was awesome. Looks great, sounds great and works like a charm. Where can I buy one?

Advantages Advantages Good looks, easy to use, in built 8gb memory storage capacity.

Disadvantages Disadvantages No flash, sometimes gets hang.

I like Sony Ericssons phone because I think they are easy to use and has some good functions as well. It comes with a 2.2 inch display screen, *GB built-in memory, 3.2 megapixel camera. I think youngsters would like this phone because of it's trandy looks and great sound quality. Moreover it's front looks and functions gives you the taste of Ipod. And with 8gb built-in memory one can store 8000 songs((formato eAAAC+). One of the unique feature of this phone is FM transmitter which allows you to send whatever’s playing on your phone to other devices with a built-in FM radio receiver. This gives ... more

I have owned the Sony Ericsson W980i i thought it was a let down from how it looked and was put across also it has built in 8GB memory which i thought was a bit much also after you put 100+ songs on it the phone it starts turning off itself i brought this phone on contract and sent the phone back no end of time's wondering why it kept turning off itself eventually i realised it was the music pictures etc. . that was making it turn off i don't see why they made a phone for music that only turns off all the time the touch screen front of the phone scratches very easily also all in all i was very ... more
