Advantages Advantages An impressive phone packed with features

Disadvantages Disadvantages Software drags a bit

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 is a phone I have had the privilege of using during the past four weeks, it came as part of a monthly O2 24 month contract package at £30 a month so I didn't pay for the handset separately. It is a well designed phone with an overall finish of brushed metal that makes the shell case feel solid and pleasing to hold in the palm of the hand. The sleek design is enhanced by stylish peripheral buttons and the fact that there are no irritating floppy rubber doors covering ports. Yes, there are lighter and slimmer phones out there, but such attributes are really a matter ... more

Advantages Advantages Great looks, feels well made, great functions

Disadvantages Disadvantages Could do with a better camera.

The Sony Ericsson X1 is the first in the new range of Xperia products by Sony Ericsson. Although the product isn't released until 30th September 2008, I have had the pleasure to use one of the pre-production models for around two weeks. Whilst there are improvements on the launch model, I am confident that the pre-production model has given me an insight in to what to expect from this handset. The X1 is the first, and possibly the last Sony Ericsson handset to use the Windows as an operating system. It uses Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional. Sony Ericsson have not yet commented on ... more

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA x1, what can i say, my first impressions on it where very good with its sleek design and rather large screen presented along with a fantastic colour touch screen. impressive to say the least! not to mention it has the latest slide up QUERTY keyboard in a nice metallic silver, i just had to have it. The Xperia has a lot of cool functions such as the new panel feature which you can customize in a vary of different ways to suit your personal needs and have it set as your main screen with the touch of your finger which kept me amused for a good while. The camera on the ... more

5 Stars Quick review of Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 by Level 1 azzy223 04/11/2008
To start off I would like to say that this is the best phone I have ever owned. First of all the look of it is just amazing, its top notch. First time you touch it is amazingly easy to get used too. The menus are easily laid out, buttons easy to use, full QWERTY keyboard a added charm! As well as this it's light, small and hard to damage. So far have dropped it on pavement twice and still no scratches! Really is an amazing phone and a must have for anyone. It used Windows Mobile 6.1 which is the ... more

Advantages Advantages has lots of features, nice design

Disadvantages Disadvantages slow and only 3.2megapixel camera

I got this phone for my birthday as a contract phone.. It was a surprise and never expected to get something like that... I mean, the design does look very proffessional and stylish. It is thin but still quite big - suppose this is an advantage for me because it's easier to find in a big bag and harder to loose... This phone has many features as it is Windows, so it had microsoft office in it and lots of bits and bobs which to be honest i havent even used... Suppose this phone would apply more to professionals as its perfect for sending emails as it has a computer keyboard... Memory is ok but ... more

I had the choice of an Iphone 3G or the SE Experia X1 18 months ago. Not wanting to get what everyone else had and liking the sleek sophisticated styling of the Xperia X1, I opted for that. In hindsight, I wish I had gone for the Iphone! That is not to say this is a bad phone but just that there are better alternatives out there. Unless you are a die hard Windows Mobile or Xperia fan, you will agree. The phone itself is stylish and draws complimentes (if that is important to you). It also picks up something much easier and unfortunately it isn't women, scratches and scuff marks on the chasis ... more

Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 was my 2nd choice when it comes to the category of this phone. Before experiencing this phone I first own the Nokia 9500 and it happens to give me comfort in my business deals, but after a while I decided to use this phone Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1and felt the difference between the nokia communicator and this Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1. I can conclude that the Sony phone is better because of its many advantages. First advantage is the style. It is stylish and sophisticated. It is like a mobile phone of a secret agent because of the waqy it was designed and the grip and ... more
