A truly wonderful experience. Speaking as one who's struggled with Digital Video tapes, loading onto PC for editing, etc. Using this camera has been a revelation. Completely hassle free. Optical and Digital zoom gives this camera a tremendous range of operation but it is the close up intimate, family moments which are of course perfect for a camera such as this. Battery life seems to be good so far, but then again this isn't for use as a "serious" ...

This camera works as well as any other DV camera, whether tape, hard drive or DVD based. It's compact (much smaller than I thought it would be), easy to use and has some nice features, although mini DVD only gives you 30mins of recording time, compared with 1 hour with tape, and hours with some of the HD based cameras. If you're after a camera for non-computer users then this is great. Record to the DVD-RW (or -R), finalise it in the camera, then ...
