I bought a Sony 80x Digital Handycam Camcorder; it uses Hi8 Digital cassette tapes. The model I bought has a colour LCD monitor, which you can use during recording and playback, and when having problems recording siblings, you can turn it 180 degrees and the kids can actually see themselves the right way up in it, it really fascinates kids. Although getting quite aged against newer models arriving all the time on the market, the TRV110e still poses a good buy for new comers into the camcorder world. It's a smart little camera with some very useful features. The reason I purchased the 110e initally was to help a friend getting into wildlife filming.
