Advantages: Falt Screen and Stylish Disadvantages: Only 2 Scart sockets
...though as i have a sony dvd home theatre kit DAVs300 which kicks ass anyway. which i recomend highley with this TV. The TV has several picture modes including 4:3, 14:9, widescreen, smart (if you don't like the black lines and yes you still get black lines on a widescreen TV as it depends on the film size), zoom if you want a close up (good if you like the film basic instinct). The TV has teletext with fast text. A simple remote control is included ... ...set up but can be a bit heavy on your own. An easy to follow manual is included in the box if you are not a bloke who just grabs it out of the box and goes for it. It's Sony so you have the backing of a major brand. ...

Advantages: Good Picture, reasonable Sound. Disadvantages: Relatively high price in comparison to other manufacturers
Sony have always been a manufacturer who like to stay at the top of the market and the launch nearly 18 months ago of the FX20 in its current form merely confounds this. Incororating Sony's WEGA technology, the picture is exceptionally good for a "basic" 50hz television, and coupled with a DVD player the effect is simply stunning. The set is catered for in the sound department with a simple Nicam setup which although not particularly technologically ... ...for a Pro-Logic set, Sony also manufacture the KV28FS20 which is identical in every way except that it has a Dolby Pro-Logic setup in preference to it's Nicam equivalent.
In summary, the FX20 is a fantastic set, though if you can afford the 100hz set then you will obviously reap the benefits (the KV28FX60). If you're looking to upgrade televisions within the forseeable future then pay close attention to the Sony - it has a reputation for excellence ...

...had to live with a Sony Portable TV for the past 8 years, as we lived in a small house, I was most excited at the thought of moving to my new (bigger!!) house, and having the chance to have a BIG TV!!!!!!!
As I've always had excellent service from Sony in the past, decided to go for a Sony again, and believe me I wasn't disappointed!!!!
I actually purchased this TV from a local dealer (Gerald Giles) for £699, it was actually found cheaper on the ... ...I was told that they were having trouble with their supply and could not give me a delivery date for at least 2 weeks. Being impatient, I cancelled the order and went to the local dealer and purchased one from there. The TV was easy to install and set up ourselves (had we asked the dealer - we would have incurred a charge!!!), the TV came with an excellent stand with cabinet below for cable and the video.
The picture is of excellent quality along ...

Advantages: You can watch films how they were made to be watched. Excellent picture quality.Surround Sound is great for movies like the Matrix and the Fifth Element. Disadvantages: Only 2 scart sockets can cause aggreviation, when you have a lot of extra equipment. Although you can loop them through the video.
...is my review on the Sony Widescreen TV:please rate this review, thankyou
I went around the internet for about 4 months before deciding at long last this was the TV for me. I had speculated over the fact that there are only 2 scart sockets on the back of the TV for quite a wile. But having made my mind up I proceeded down to the local Dixons to buy my new TV.
When I had got home I opened the rather large box and took the television out. I did not ... ...put the TV in.
I fiddled around for hours around the back to try all the different combinations of sockets and plugs.
The thing is I have got Sky Digital, a DVD player and a VCR, thus meaning I have 3 scart plugs but only 2 sockets. At first I went out to the shops and bought a 3 scart socket adaptor, but when I plugged the Sky and the Dvd into the TVs new adaptor the surround sound went on the sky and the sound on the DVD went right down, so much ...

Advantages: Superb flat screen and picture Disadvantages: Small screen
...you have never seen a SONY WEGA TV before, you haven't seen TV!!! The screen on this TV is absolutely flat, which means that the picture at the sides of the screen is not distorted like on most other TV's. Let's get this straight from the word go...this TV has a superb screen and amazing picture quality...period. You can customize the picture settings and save them for use later, so if you like your films dark, no problem!
But TV's aren't just about ... ...to say that this doesn't fail here either - the built-in "virtual" surround sound does the job well. Our room is small and not well suited to a proper suround sound system, but this TV had me fooled on many occasions! Police sirens really do sound like they are outside sometimes, but in actual fact, they are on the TV! Like the picture, the sound can be altered too, using pre-sets such as jazz, rock, or using your own custom settings.
My only problem ...

Advantages: Better Picture Disadvantages: Require TV Knowledge
Are you in the market to buy a new TV
What should you be looking for.
This is the generic advice I would recommend you check out. This is not
specific to this unit but it does apply to most models.
Well depending on your requirements and budget perhaps you should bear these things in mind if you are fussy about what your TV picture should look like.
Most TV's to-day will display a multitude of different picture sizes.
From 4:3 ratio to widescreen. ... ...make sure that the TV you buy can provide this picture size. As for sound the bare requirements is DOLBY Pro Logic. If you are using a DVD Player you may have a DOLBY 5:1 sound system either as built in to the TV or via a seperate subsystem.
Now for the TV itself. I am extremely fussy as to how the geometry of the TV is setup at the
factory and how easily it can be adjusted via the software provided via the remote control.
The Geometry side is ...

Advantages: massive screen, amazing sound, amazing picture and good looking Disadvantages: expensive
...is my opinion on the Sony WEGA 28" widescreen television. It's a bit on the short side but who gives one? ENJOY.
I bought this television for my bedroom in January 2001. It is by far the best and most impressive television I have ever seen, heard and used in my life - and i've had a fairly long life.
It's picture is fantastic and the sound - indescribable. It also has a quality remote control, a wide range of great features and the instructions ... ...all the difference when trying to set something up as fantastically complicated as this!
I recommend it to anyone, providing they have the money, space and time. This is because it is very big, expensive and the 'setting up part' can be a bit time consuming.
However, when you finally get this state of the art entertainment equipment going, all the time and money will be well worth it. ...

Advantages: Excellent quality and build Disadvantages: none
...good picture. However, this Sony WEGA called out to me as I watched the crystal clear picture and lovely sound quality it had to offer. The television is in Sony's current colour choice of metallic silver with black edging. If you already own Sony equipment (such as Hi-Fi's, videos and DVD players) then it should fit in quite nicely. It comes with a nice little cabinet, which has two shelves and enough room for two videos and a DVD player if you ... ...the TV in to a Sony video player gives you smart functions (where available) meaning that once your TV is tuned in, your video will do the same. The connections consist of two scart leads, again, useful if you have a DVD and video or a games console, and an RF (standard arial) lead. These are complimented by the phono plugs on the front for a camcorder or another video input. The picture was fantastically clear, with options on the menu to switch ...

Advantages: Widesceen / minimul reflection / excellent sound quality / looks Disadvantages: Tv is bulky and very heavy
The Sony KV28FX20 Wega 28" widescreen TV. What a excellent quality TV.
Recently buying one, and looking aroung at what the market offered, I chose this one, It has the unique Super flat FD Trinitron sceen, which has minimum relection, distortion picture. This TV looks the part, it comes in the modern silver colour, and comes with a self assembly base cabinet, which matchs the colour, design and lines of the TV. The cabinet took around 15 minuts ... ...good steardy base. The functions on ths TV offer; Super Trinitron screen

NICAM stereo sound

and the list goes on and on,
I am not a TV engineer and didn't need to be to install it, with its Auto setup, it practically took a couple of minutes, thats all, to completely set the set up. especially easy to wire up to digital receivers also, as it boasts scart sockets.
The remote ...

Advantages: Sony picture quality Disadvantages: Dated design
My personal opinion this entry-level Sony television looks dated, and is designed with older customers in mind.
The stand is a case in point, it is a closed stand (glass doors) and is convex in shape. Most modern designs are open with glass shelves and are flat fronted.
The look of the television is ok but again in my opinion not stunning when you set it against the equivalent Philips and JVC alternative.
Where the Sony wins is in the picture ... ...problems with this offering from Sony (in the past sets such as the 28ws2 have proven to be troublesome).
The features of this TV considering its modest price (aprox. £496) are satisfactory although 3 scart sockets would have been a helpful addition.
In conclusion there is nothing really wrong with this TV if you like the look then go ahead and buy it, it’s great value for money, good quality, and lets face it Sony is the premium badge to ...
