Advantages: Good destribution of sound - very cheap. Disadvantages: Poor quality of the plug
This is a curious looking bunch!
However I find the value high compared to the price.
I have tested the MDR-E11LPB on as different music as Nine Inch Nails' With Teeth, Death Cab For Cutie's Plans and Depeche Mode's Violator.
In all the cases the set never ceased to amaze me in regard to the distribution. Admittedly they favor mid-tone but is also doing well on NIN's more angry bass-based tracks.
The shape of the cups looks curious at first glance. ... ...nicely in at least my ears...
Are they cheap then?
Yes and no.
As the quality of the set is a bit in the low end - the plug is simply small and fragile, I'm not sure they will last very long.
Of course at this price you'll just be able to buy new ones, as the old ones break, but I am a bit against the whole consume-and-disperse concept.
A better quality in the plug would have made these perfect. ...
