...good. As with all other Sony equipment I have ever owned, it has functioned reliably and as expected in day-to-day use.
The MDS-JE330 even has some excellent little features which made it ideal for my live use when going solo. The Auto Pause function means that I don't have to run back to the unit after the end of a song, to make sure it doesn't leap into the next unexpectedly.
With a particularly comprehensive remote control, MOST features are ... ...however a few options which are quite useful, but you have to first enter the menu on the unit itself. At first look, this is a daunting adventure, but it is straight forward once you work out the means for using the menu system itself.
The instruction manual could possibly have been a little more informative, but I don't think I've ever found a perfect instruction manual, so as they go, this wasn't bad. ...

Advantages: It is Minidisc, not bad sound Disadvantages: Cheap made, no digital out
...fascia rather than the usual Sony aluminium, and the remote is standard budget Sony.
Sound quality is basically quite good, great for making MD for the car, or recording off digital TV staying in digital from box to MD (I record off The Hits, TMF and Radio 6).
Labeling a MD is a chore as there is a choice between a knob to twiddle or pressing buttons on the remote - three presses for C or F ect.
Some MD players have sockets for a PC keyboard.
