Advantages: Floppy disks,MPEG Movies,Fairly easy to use. Disadvantages: Bulky,Price!
Sony Digital Mavica – MVC-FD85. I’ve not had mine long and don’t know if I’m qualified to write an opinion yet! – But here goes anyway!! I bought my FD85 in the June of 2001 it cost me £449:98 from Dixon’s (a bit pricey for a digital camera these days) I could have bought one for about £30:00 less, mail order but had itchy fingers and like any “big kid” I couldn’t wait the week for delivery (how ... ...(Buy a carry case? A Sony case will knock your pocket an extra £30 at least, I picked up a padded shoulder case new on a market stall for a £1 and it’s the BIZZ). As all the pictures are stored on floppy disk they are instantly compatible with your computer and no software is needed. This Mavica has a 1.3 million Mega-Pixel capability (not a lot by today’s standards but “enough”) this allows picture image sizes to be set as ...

Advantages: Saves pictures to floppy disks, nice and cheap! Disadvantages: Does not perform well in low level light

Also the maximum resolution is 640 by 480 which is very low in today’s market of digital cameras. When you are in very ...

Advantages: Ease of use Disadvantages: Need tp recharge the battery too often
I needed a digital camera to make my listings of items for sale on the eBay auction site as easy as possible. After checking with contacts in the US the general opinion was that the Mavica was the quickest and easiest to use.
I've now had my Mavica for just over 9 months and I have not been disappointed. Just take the pictures and take out the 3 1/2" floppy. Insert into the drive and away you go. I have also started to use it for ordinary photography, ...

(+) Ultra-compact dimensions, fun automatic tools, good performance for the asking price (-) Cluttered menu layout, camera buttons are scarce, specs are almost identical to the Samsung ES15
