Advantages: Convenience, easy to use, floppy drive Disadvantages: Larger than many digi cams
Ok, I'll keep this brief.
Features = Multiple Picture Formats, Mic, MPEG movie option (low grade), multiple picture resolutions, and you don't require a graphics card in your tower. Simply save direct onto a floppy in the inbuilt drive and transfer to your PC.
There is basic file handling options on the camera (ie. delete, copy etc.) and you can view the entire disk as thumbnails. You can even view your movies on the camera.
One work of advice, ... ...it in there.
The whole thing is damned easy to use, gives good results (although David Bailey will have not too much to worry about) and is sensibly priced.
If your looking for ease and convenience you could do a lot worse than to buy this handy cam.

Advantages: Easy peasy lemon sqeezy to use Disadvantages: Heavy, large and needs charging a LOT!
I won't waffle about the technology behond the Mavica. I just want to tell any prospective buyers about it's pros and cons! Firstly, I didn't have to buy it as it's a school camera (which spends most of it's time with me at home!!!) so the cost wasn't a barrier (although I'm fully aware that they aren't cheap so this may put you off initally!)
Secondly, it's so easy to take a million pictures (hols, trips etc) and pull the handy 3.5" floppy out, ... ...simpler! No software involved, no complicated downloads and you can take as many photos while you're abroad as you can stuff little floppy disks in yer baggage (which based upon the size of my cases is LOTS!)
The picture quallity is great (only be mindful of what printer you use obviously!) the flash, zoom and focus options are very handy too. You can choose whether the flash is automatic or turn it off. The focus can be set at certain distances ...
