Quick review of Sony NEC Optiarc BC-5500A

I bought a Sony Vaio VGN-FZ38M because I need the 4GB RAM to process music scores and large photo files. I also chose it because it had this BD-ROM drive. I now find that I am unable to burn to BD-RE disc because this drive reads but does not write Blu-Ray, which was not explained in the specifications provided by the shop I bought it from. This is totally ridiculous. I will now have to buy a separate BD-ROM drive to save multi-gigabyte photo folders. ...
