    I loved the iPODs when they first came out but I had also then read a lot of reviews on Sony products and decided to go for them instead. I'm very glad now that I did. The player is of an average size for an 8GB player, being small and sleek. The menus are very straight forward as the layout is like the one of a mobile phone. There is no click wheel but the navigation is very easy and practical as the scrolling is based on search through the alphabetical order.     i bought this product about one year ago... and its still being used every day! when i look for a product such as an MP3 player, i take my time researching and looking ta reviews and websites to find the best price/feature unit. this came out on top :) the units design is small, sturdy but a major problem is the screen, it gets easily scratched and there are no screen covers or protectors except buying off 2nd hand sellers off ebay or amazon. the user interface is excellent, easily do what you want to do (i found it exactly like the interface on the PSP). the video quality is outstanding for ... more

    I have been using this MP3 player for around one year and so far I am very pleased with it. I purchased it for £69.99 from play.com and in my opinion this is an absolute steal, especially as it comes with £35 headphones in the box. The sound quality is excellent - deep bass and a very full, satisfying sound. The player is very powerful and I have found it to be very loud on 15 out of 30 volume. This enables it to retain battery etc. My previous MP3 player was the iPod Nano 1st Gen and I have found that the sound quality is incomparable.     I was originally thinking of buying the 4GB one but I bought it at the local SonyCentre and they had an offer with which I got a black leather case, worth £20, for free. It's got a nice high quality 2.0" screen on which videos stream with outstanding quality. It plays videos in MP4 and AVC format and it might seem a hassle to convert avi or mpeg fiels into MP4 or AVC formats but there are tons of converters out there and it's easy to get hold of one. You can play videos both horizontally and vertically but you have to set it accordingly (I thought it might change as you tilt the mp3 player ... more

    The Sony NWZA-818 i a brill piece of kit though not perfect. The headphones supplied are noise reducing (great on the bus) and the sound quality is fantastic. Looks good too, very slim and has a nice wieght - feels expensive. However, I felt the screen was a bit exposed and bough a hard plastic case for it . The menu structures are very intuitive and easy to use you get used to it very quickly. Another major good point NO SONICSTAGE! Finally Sony , you realised it was rubbish, is now as easy as pie to sync it using wmp. Although advertised as a media player the video functions are limited ... more
