I can have this monster in my pocket and feel safe in the knoledge that if it falls out or I leave it somwhere, I will know.......Instantly. I don't use it everyday anymore (I don't walk or cycle as much as I was) but with heavy daily use I still only needed to charge it once a week or so. ...thing i noticed was that sony have completely changed the shape of the hd5 and i feel that it has lost some of the uniqueness of the 2 previous models and now looks similar to the creative zen micros!! This is an amazing personal stereo. If you're a compulsive fiddler you will find it frustrating because you can only manage your playlists via your computer. Actually, it's quite slow to move from menu to menu so it's probably best you can't try and get it to do anything more complex 'stand alone'!
