Advantages: Battery Life / Charge Times ; Nice Size Disadvantages: Squeaking / Sticking
I don't think there's that much that can be said about this specific product...it's a controller. However, I'll give an account of my experiences of this controller over the past two years.
I got two of these sixaxis controllers free with my PS3 so was able to rotate between using one and charging the other, hopefully allowing me to prolong the usability of the contollers. Unfortunately, after about a year and a half ( and many hours of use, 200+ ... ...to squeak and stick. I'm pretty sure the analogue bashing involved in Beijing Olympics contributed highly to this. The main disadvantages of this for me is when I'm playing Call of Duty and I'm hiding behind an object and without realising have begun slowly moving out into the open. The second most annoying thing is at night when I'm trying to keep the noise down, I can't. Squeak, squeak, squeak rings out around the house. I tried taking one of them ...

Advantages: Reliable, lightweight, chargeable by USB. Will fall in price with introduction of DUALSHOCK 3. Disadvantages: No rumble. DUALSHOCK 3 is a more complete controller.
...controllers based on the typical Sony design, and with the use of the PS button in the centre can even wireless turn on and off the PS3. However, the L2 and R2 buttons are shaped such that your fingers do not fully sit on them as triggers - I recommend buying a clip on enhancement for a few pounds such as 'Gioteck Real Triggers' if you want to enhance your experience with this SIXAXIS.
These controllers are different to the old PS2 controllers in ... ...capabilities. In certain games, you will need to shake the SIXAXIS controller to activiate certain functions, which is a nice touch, but has so far been definitely underused in games. The fact that these are chargeable via a USB cable and do no need batteries is also an excellent plus - so if you can can these on the cheap and just need some extra controllers, definitely go for them. Otherwise, I would recommend you go for the superior DUALSHOCK ...

Advantages: Six-axis, light, wireless Disadvantages: no rumble pack
When you think of a games console you think heavy, uncomfortable and always getting tangled in wires. Well not the PS3 sixaxis controller. The first point of interest is the wireless cabability of the controller. The controller uses bluetooth which allows a constant stream of information from the controller to the PS3 with no lag time. The second is because it is bluetooth the range of the controller is about 20m, you will never need this much length ... ...that you can't use it. The last point about bluetooth is that it does not need a direct connection therefore the contoller doesn't have to be in direct vie of the PS3.
The next point is that the controller is incredibly light but also very strong and will not break under any pressure from high stress games. The only bad thing about being really light is that there is no rumble pack in the controller although one is being made apparently. But if ...

...criticism from ps3 on lookers Sony later stated that the original controller "was very clearly designed as a design concept, and was never intended to be the final controller, despite what everybody said about it." – as quoted by Fahey, Rob 2006-05-12. My thoughts: hats of to sony with the great new contoller, although it looks the same as the old dual shock this controller feels better lighter and more precision about it. If the design aint broke don’t change it and they didn’t. ...

Advantages: +Lightweight +Great battery life +Motion-sensing Disadvantages: -No rumble
The SixAxis controller is the standard controller for the PS3 at the moment. In the east (and possibly America) a new version has been released which has a rumble feature. This product will be out in the UK around about springtime. The current model lacks rumble capabilities. This may seem a bad thing, but you really do get used to it, I don't miss rumble at all now although I might buy the dualshock3 (the rumble version) when it comes out in the ... ...experience of playing a game, but its nothing major. The lack of rumble is the ONLY possible negative I can think of for the sixaxis, although as it doesn’t affect me much I don’t really see it as a negative (although some might)
The controller uses bluetooth to connect to the ps3, you plug it into the ps3 by the lead, press a button in the middle, the four lights on the top flash, and then its connected, you'll have to charge it for ...

...rumble effects on this controller. Sony initally said it would intefer with the movement sensative nature of the pad, however the new Dual Shock 3 conroller will have the rumble feature.
This controller is much lighter than the previous PS2 controller, great as far as i'm concerned.
The L2 and R2 buttons have been slightly modified to make them easier to use.
Motion sensative. This is not in the same league as the Wii, however it is very effictive ... ...balancing, and the sensativity can be altered.
The Center button allows you to control the PS3. You can turn it on and off, quit a game and see the charge of the controller, all very useful

...about the pad is right? Sony have had so many years to think about improving it, they have trialled other designs in the run up to the release of the PS3 but in the end they new the had to stick with this design. Ergonomically its perfect! 'If it aint broke, dont fix it!'

When we bought the Sony PS3 it came with this controller. The controller itself is uses Wireless technology and does come with a charging cable which can be charged by the PS3. You can also buy a Cintroller Charging Station which you put the controllers on when not using and they will charge.
The controller has Dualshock which in Game play vibrates, it does this on fighting games when shot or shot at. The controller is an offical Sony product which ... ...Personally I would always but Sony controllers as they are reliable and are guaranteed to work. We have found this item a bonus as we have a 4 year old who loves running around and used to trip over the old wired controllers, now there is no wires to trip over!
I would recommend this controller to all gamers as this is the best controller around. ...

...no rumble :(.This is because sony could not get rights for the technology. Sony what happened?
Well good news this controller is being released again next year as Dual Shock 3 is comming out. So if you can wait i strongly urge you wait for it to come out as it is a great feature. The feeling for the game is lost without dual shock. Need For Speed didnt feel the same without it the ride felt so smooth and unrealistic.
It also has a great feature ... ...playstations controllers. This works similar to the Ninetendo Wii controllers where it is motion sensitive. This currently is not avaliable in all games yet but i do know that it is harder playing like that but with practice it will be just as easy and more enjoyable.
This controller is great value for money if you have a ps3 i strongly recomend it. if you dont have a ps3 i stil recomend it as this controller is pc compatible so you can use your ...

I have owned a playstation 3 for a number of years now with a sixaxis controller. The controller is extreamly suffisticated as well as all of the normal buttons which are used for conventional gameplay it also contains a gyroscope which monitors its position and movements in six axis, clever hey. The sxiaxis motion control offers a new way to play games and makes things more interesting and more challenging. For example when playing a racing game ... ...may play a game where we just use the motion control which makes it alot more challenging and adds alot of amusement.
Some of the best games I have found to use with the sixaxis include Super Rub a Dub very entertaining no matter who you are.
As time goes on the use of the motion control wil get better and better and will include better refinement and more intuative ways of use.
Overall the Sixaxis controller has a very sturdy build quility a ...

Advantages: Six Axis Feature Is Good! Disadvantages: Dualshock!
The PS3 Six Axis Wireless Controller is a revolution in the gaming but is not as good as the wii remote and how it reacts to the game. I am glad that they kept the design the same but feel that it should have the range of features the wii does to make it even better.
I feel the best part is the fact that it is rechargeable and will last for about 10 hours of game play and can be charged from the PS3 system in less than an hour. It is really top ... ...The new trigger buttons are a really great addition and the games like FIFA 2008 change the button to R2 as sprint because of the ease and control that you now have over the trigger button.
The poor feature of the controller is the dual shock which really does need to be included in the new version of the controller but the cost maybe the worry. Overall a great product and would recommend to anyone buying. ...

Advantages: WIRELESS; SIMPLE TO USE Disadvantages: GAME DEVELOPERS NOT MAKING MOST OF SIXAXIS
I bought a Playstation 3 around 4 months ago and, so far I can't fault the SIXAXIS controller for what I use it for.
They've bascally kept the original Playstation 2 controller but made it wireless and added the SIXAXIS system to it.
This is a motion sensor that is built in to the controller which senses which way you are leaning the controller and moves as you do but to be honest I found this pretty pointless due to not needing it at all, it just ... ...it with a few games and with some it's better than others but I still stick to the original normal controls as I find them a lot easier to use.
So quite frankly my opinion is, I'm glad they've kept the controller the same as from the PS2 but thought that the addition of the SIXAXIS system was a bit of a waste of time unless the game developers start concentrating more on using this device to it's full advantage. ...
