    As a huge gadget fan, I've owned a number of video game consoles over the years - twelve in fact at the last count. Normally, I will buy a system and then sell it when, a) I simply get fed up with it, or b) it becomes outdated - but i've stuck with my Sony Playstation 3 Slim for a long time now.     Advantages Advantages It's smaller, lighter and draws less power. Upgraded storage space.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages It doesn't look as sexy as it used to. Still no browser filtering.

    ***AUTHORS NOTE*** This review as stated is a comparison between the PS3 Fat and the PS3 Slim. At the bottom of this review, is my review of the original PS3. This is included for comparison, and to save me having to explain vast amounts of information again. I'd advise reading both (if possible) so you can draw comparisons.     I have recently sold my 60GB PS3 'Phat' and replaced it with a 250GB Slim model and so far I couldn't be happier with it. ~~~ Games ~~~ For 99% of people this will be the key area that the console has to perform in - and it does. I've played a wide variety of games on it since I bought it including FIFA, Call of Duty, Assassins Creed 2 and various demos. All of these play very smoothly and the graphics are of a very good high-definition quality.     Advantages Advantages Blu Ray player, good graphics, very reliable, great accessories, so many features.

    I've had my PS3 for about 2 years now, well, pretty much exactly 2 years, And I've played about 200 games on it, so I know lots about it. It's a very reliable system that has never overheated on me, and will rarely freeze. It has a Blu Ray player which is very useful compared to the Xbox 360, which doesn't. It can run off HDMI, AV cables and Component cables. So it's also very versatile and will go in any TV you own, even though it is better to have a 1080p/720p HD TV.     What Is It? The PS3 is a video games console. It is not a handheld one and it requires a television and connection to electricity to play on it.     Advantages Advantages Blu-ray, free online, nice extras like vidzone & iplayer. Almost silent operation

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Rubbish controller, still expensive, online nowhere near as good as xbox live

    Well, had the slim for a few weeks now (my 1st ever playstation), personally, I'm a little underwhelmed by it, I've been a gamer since the nintendo game & watch days & owned @ least 1 of the current gen consoles since the Mega Drive(Genesis). Graphically the system has the potential to wipe the floor with the 360, but this is really only going to apply to PS3 exclusives as any software house making a multi-platform game is going to be as cost effective (lazy) as possible & use the same graphics on all the games where possible(ok, they need to dumb them down for the Wii).     Disadvantages Disadvantages only 2 usb slots now and no backward compatability.

    The Sony Ps3 is one of the 4 major gaming consoles that dominate the market at the moment. (wii, ps3,Xbox 360 and the Pc) The upgrade slims down the ps3 and makes it less power hungry and have added proper buttons which are much quicker to use than the touch operation ones before on the ps3 fat. They must have crammed all the hardware in it because it is thinner not as long, and not as wide making it almost a square shape.     Hi all, i figured that i enjoy reviewing games a lot, but what about the consoles themselves, i'm going to take a look at one of my personal favorites, The Playstation3, this baby's right up there on my list with the original Nintendo entertainment system.     I bought my PlayStation 3 recently after being pestered by friends to buy one ever since it was released. Up until now I have avoided buying one as I am not usually that much of a gamer and I have always preferred the old Playstation one to any of the newer ones as I could not get on with the controllers for the newer ones.     I really enjoy using my Playstation 3 slim for many reasons. There are lots of ways to connect it to a tv but the best is a HDMI cable which brings the screen to life. With a HDMI cable plugged in the picture is so much clearer and the sound is great too. It has built in Wi-Fi and also has USB ports to plug accesories in ang to charge the controller, which is wireless and can be played from quite a distance away. The range of games is incredible and always getting larger. You can even buy games, demo's and add-ons off the Playstation Store and download them directly to the PS3. You can access ... more
