    I am going to be reviewing possibly one of the biggest console in the market currently the PS3. Firstly I have one and it is great, now let's take a look at it in detail: LAUNCH November 11, 2006: This is when it debut in Japan November 17, 2006: It released in North America March 23, 2007: Finally was released in Europe, Australia, the Middle East, Africa and New Zealand.     The PlayStation 3 is Sonys third generation of home consoles. After the stellar performance of the PlayStation 2 and launch of its two rivals the Wii and Xbox 360 the PS3 has a tough act to follow. Sony are clearly not worried as according to their marketing the PS3 is a "supercomputer" and is capable of "4D" graphics, with such bold claims I had to pick one up for myself and see if it was true!     Playstation 3. The greatest gaming machine known to man. Those two sentences describe the PS3. If I wanted to, I could just leave the review at this point and post it as it is, because the two sentences I started with should be enough to convince you to buy a PS3.     I have a rather annoying habit. I tend to collect games consoles. The problem with this is threefold. It's expensive, Buggy (she who must be obeyed, but rarely is) doesn't like the fact that the bedroom where they all live and we sleep has more lights flashing than the average xmas tree and the one that's most annoying is I rarely play any games. I can't justify them, and I'm not even going to attempt to, although I managed to state a convincing argument about having a blu-ray player at the time.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Weighs more than the moon, everything costs a fortune.

    Yeah, I know. More expensive than the Xbox 360 and wii combined. Yes, I know, all the "clued up" people seem to hate it. But I don't care. I bought a PS3. Sue me. Alternatively, understand that everyone's opinion is only that - opinion. The main reason I parted with £464.99 (it came with 2 games of my choosing) for the PS3 was backward compatibility.     Having tried the xbox 360 for 5 months, finding it cr*p & getting my money back-due to numerous faults- I bought a ps3.... If the wii hadn't been out of stock everywhere within 35 miles of where I live, I would have got that- merely because I wanted a new console, I needed the excitement, and the ps3 was way out of my budget. Thank the lords the wii was out of stock! WOW!     Playstation 3 and the reason to buy I have never bought a games console in my life so this was very much a step into the unknown for me. I didn't see the point of a games console when I could do everything I needed to do on a PC including playing games. It was only after very careful investigation that I decided that of all the possible games consoles on the market the PS3 finally offered something that might make it a worthwhile purchase.     Over the past year or so, there has been a lot of speculation over whether the Playstation 3 from Sony is better than the Xbox 360 from Microsoft or not. I believe the Playstation 3 is much better. The Playstation just offers a greater amount of brilliant features. The only downside people pick out with this Playstation is the fact that it only has a 60GB memory. I think that this is plenty enough if you are just playing games and you only use the memory for save data, and I've never really had a problem with memory until recently.     When I went to buy my PS3 at the end of 2008, I was torn between buying the PS3 and the Xbox 360. I must admit one of the biggest factors between the 2 was the price, the Xbox's price tag was a lot lower, but I wanted online play and online cost a LOT in the long run with the Xbox. However the PS3 was a lot more expensive initially, the online was free, but that wasn't the only reason I chose the PS3...
