I purchased mine from Play.com, its such a brilliant console, its media compatibility's and the ability for it to read video, picture and music data from my computer is a really good and must have thing for all media/technology enthusiast. The gaming is its main selling point although I have GTA4 on both PS3 and 360 and the PS3 version I had to tamper with my TV and game setting a lot to get the picture quality any good although it still is rather ... Disadvantages: a little dusty

Had my PS3 for 3 months now and I am addicted. Graphics are amazing and i may now need to invest in a larger tv.... The look of the machine is cool - a bit retro and i believe there is a slim down version available soon. If you're thinking about a console - i can say its a genuine gem! the hardrive now stores all my photos and i'm starting to load my music too. ...regular updates are released by Sony to fix any problems, and to improve the system. The graphics are improving game by game. As the console uses a blu-ray drive, games can be much bigger then ever before. Also unlike previous consoles the PS3 doe's not just play games and movies, there is a web browser which can be used with a USB keyboard and mouse, Music player, downloadable demos with new ones released regularly. ...until next year!!! Although Sony market the console as a multi-media centre, lets face it, it is a games machine and is let down at the moment. I have no doubt that this will improve however for the forseeable year at least I am dissappointed with a (al be it) good Blu Ray player (though discs are very expensive) with poor options for video and audio play back and the worst internet browser i have seen. Advantages: Online play and blue ray
Disadvantages: Not as many games availible as Xbox 360

Playstation 3's have to main bonuses for me, Blue ray and the plataystion on-line network. First blue ray, you can pay 100's of pounds for a player but getting one built into your playstation is brilliant. Personally i would bought the ps3 any way but just pushed me from the xbox to the playstation. This is an absolutley imense gaming console!! I recieved mine for christmas last year and i couldn't have asked for a better christmas present. ...controls.. it is a best thing sony have ever released.... and the best thing i love ebt this console is that it uses Blue ray discs.. yeah a single game of ps3 is more then the size of 27GB... now....i think it is cleared that PS3 has ROCKED.. nothing can beat it..xccept PS4.... what else...? Disadvantages: Price for system and add-ons but not much else

...close to PC spec as Sony have come with a memory size of 256mb XDR for a bulk of the work (mainly for games) 256MB of GDDR VRAM for utilities in the background at a much lower speed. Apparently the spec for the boxes super graphics chip named the RSX or Reality Synthesizer is astounding, it will churn out a state of the art 128bit pixel rate (near reality) and 1080p resolution which is probably enough to blow up your TV. Are you trying to choose between PS3, Xbox 360 or the Wii. I run a Cybercafe for young kids and we now have all 3 after purchasing a PS3.. The PS3 menu system is not easy for young first time users, some of ours have had to have help getting started on a game. The wireless controllers are excellent and appear to not to need frequent re-charging. Re charging using a USB cable is easy. However you only get one controller when buying the PS3 and one ...
