Advantages: Sony brand. Does what it says on the tin! Solid, reliable. Disadvantages: electronic programme guide does not work with my cable. Cables not supplied.
I am so glad I bought this machine in time for Christmas! I have it all set up to record all the good shows and I know it will perform flawlessly.
For those not familiar with this type of machine, let me go through some of the features:
1) Record from live TV (including Sky box or cable box) onto the sizeable hard disk. You can choose the quality of the recording and the higher the quality, the more disk space it takes up. Love it !! So pleased we got it, only wish we'd got is sooner. Purchased on E-Buyer for £214. Great value. Love the pause TV. Easy set up (well, I can say that, I didn't have to put all the wires in), other half did it. Not too much moaning and groaning though. Go and buy yourself one now. Its great only having the one remote control. The guide plus is just fantastic. Recording is just so easy now, just a case of pressing a couple of buttons. Love ...
