I bought this for my boyfriend this Christmas because he has a very active lifestyle which includes lots of jogging and lots of going to the gym. I thought it was perfect for him because it's waterproof, very important since we live in Manchester, and it also has a pedometer so he can see exactly how much running he's done.

The Sony software is pretty easy to use but I haven't worked out how to use the 'Run' and 'Walk' folders which are supposed to play according to the pace you are travelling during excercise. Somehow I don't think I will bother with them as I am happy enough building my own play lists.
It is described as waterproof and has survived a few runs in the rain with no problems.

Advantages: Very small and compact, easy to put music on to, good sound quality. Disadvantages: Headphones included are poor, can be awkward to find tracks on it.
I bought this product about six months ago, and was originally disappointed with what I found. It was easy to take around with me and could store a good number of tracks, but the sound quality was poor. Advantages: waterproof and jog proof. Disadvantages: small and a little fidely.
The sony s2 is a great present for anyone but especially somone who goes jogging or plays sport to keep fit. Being waterproof it wont stop you taking it out in all weather conditions, plus it holds a pedometer which will show him how much exercise he has completed. Because of its small lightweight design you almost forget you have it, it costs an extra £10 and you can get the 2g rather than the 1.
