...asking me to review the Sony A200 DSLR camera, this is because I have made mention of it in a few of my camera reviews lately but never actually got down to doing a full write up on it.
I haven't reviewed it previously for a couple of reasons mainly though that I had up until now only had a few hours experience of the unit.
Now with a whole weeks shooting with it under my belt and over 1000 pictures taken with it I feel much more capable of ...

Sony a200 D-SLR camera
Introduction
This Sony a200 is the bottom of the range fully fledged entry level d-SLR from Sony. With prices now well below £300 could this be the camera for you to enter the next level of your photography? I believe it can. Offering a wide range of features, lenses and quality that has brought Sony where it is today, this camera will definitely be giving the bigger names something to worry about.

...and often better that the Sony ones (for more advanced photos). The manual settings are easy to use, however are a little rigid, and I find do not give you the same flexibility as some of the more expensive digital SLRs or manual ones (Cannon ones are very good for this), however for the price of the Sony, the settings are reasonable.
Down to the most important point - image quality. I cannot really find fault with this at all, and this is comparable ...

...what is known as a sony A-mount so its compatible with A-Mount bayonet lenses from Minolta and Konica Minolta. This means that there are lots of lenses easily available and you do not have to go out and spends £100's of pounds on special lenses to fit it.
It has inbuilt anti shake so it helps to keep your photos crisp and sharp even when shooting handheld with slower shutter speeds.
It comes with double anti dust which means every time you switch ...

...flavours and I chose the Sony as it meant all of my kit fits. My previous camera was an aging Konica Minolta D5 and I decided on the upgrade due to a few hot pixels and the higher spec of the new Sony. A WORD OF WARNING here... The build quality of the Sony came as a bit of a letdown when compared to the older camera. The D5 had a nice solid feeling rubberized body but the Sony feels more plasticy and light weight. They have also made the body smaller ...

...the Nikon D40 and the Sony a200. I decided to go for the Sony in the end as it was a name I trusted and I had used a compact Sony in the past.
The quality difference between my old compact camera and this camera was incredible. Shots always seem to come out crisp and clear, whatever lighting conditions the picture was taken in. Battery life is great and the percentage meter of battery power remaining is invaluable.
The camera fits well in large ...

...of scenario. But with this Sony SLR, especially with it's effective auto-focus, built in flash and £299 price tag clear memories are well within everybody's reach.
The camera shake problem that often contributes to blurring has been dealt with using a technology Sony have named "Super Steady Shot". Otherwise sometimes known as the camera's virtual tripod, this allows confident shot's with or without a steady hand. This of course will become less ...

Advantages: Great pictures, incredible feature set, good zoom range, the price Disadvantages: Soft images from the kit lens
The Sony Alpha 200 is an excellent entry level DSLR available at very attractive prices. It offers a very good set of features that I will go over in more detail, later in the review. This kit includes the 18-70mm lens which gives it a much larger zoom range over it's competitors (both Canon and Nikon give their entry models an 18-55mm, about a 3x zoom), for a much lower price.
THE BODY
The camera's body is robust and solid- however it does ...

Quick review of Sony a (alpha) DSLR-A200K Review ofSony a (alpha) DSLR-A200Kby

Bought this to replace a Canon Pro1 Powershot camera.
Excellent build quality, work excellently in both automatic and manual modes.
I have found that in Auto settings sometimes it can produce slightly over brightened pictures, but thats quicky and easily solved with simple picture software.
I use mainly i manual mode as I have a digital studio with flash heads, so this totally manual mode is important to me.
As I do a lot of portrait work, picture quality is paramount. The camera offers 10mp resolution, and I've sucessfully blown up a print to A1 without any significant noticable loss in picture quality.
This is a quick review, and I'll update later with more details.
But would highly recommend for beginner or semi pro as a cheap camera

Advantages: Only £350! Disadvantages: plastic body, noise problem
...i own, i had the sony a100 wich unfortuantly broke, but the sony a200 delivers more with a bigger lcd screen and higher iso settings of 3200, i would strongly recomend this 10.2 megapixel camera to anyone.
The sony a200 sports a 18-70mm lens, which adds a bit more telephoto coverage, then other models aimed at this price.
The only problem with the sony a200 is when the camera focuses, it tends to make a lot of noise, and can take quit a while ...

The Sony A200 is the next level of the Sony A100. is this one of the cheapest Dslr on the markets. it has very high ISO and fast shutter speed. The lens can take wide angle pictures. it has fast focus system and built-in flash. Very easy to use and great place to start if you're looking to get your first DSLR.

...some research decided on the Sony A200.
As a step up from a pocket digital camera the difference is amazing, although I've not yet figured out all the setting and buttons you can pretty much just start clicking with this. I didn't even read the manual before starting to click and it worked fine, its pretty intuitive.
All the pictures I've taken so far have turned out great, connecting them to a big TV you can see the difference with this and a ...

As my first DSLR the Sony A200K has proved to be a great success. After shopping around I found myself returning to the Sony each time. There was a number of things that kept my interest on this including the large screen, weight, built in Steady Shot and excellent value.
