** WARNING : This review may offend if you... - don't like crisps or are on a diet and snap at the mere mention of snack foods - do not like the odd sweary word (I admit, they do pop out!) - do not like innuendo (how could I do it with a simple snack review? You evidently have not been exposed to...

I first became acquainted with this particular snack on our long walks home from school. At the time, apart from penny sweets, it was one of the cheapest things you could buy, and are still amazingly good value at only 10p a bag. I think the bags are smaller these days, or maybe I just got bigger...

They taste abseloutely gorgeous, really cheap

I cant think of any, they are so good

If you are like me, you are a snack monster. If I am bored, sad or hungry I reach for the snacks. Luckily I am not fat because of this, but it is still greedy of me! I must spend a fortune on snacks. On a typical working day, I usually eat a breakfast bar, two packets of crisps and two chocolate...

Delicious cheap snack

None!

Ever just feel a bit pekish at times? Well I do and my favourite snack at times of need has to be Space Raiders. Why? Well it's simple. Unlike your ordinary packets of crisps such as Walkers, Space Raiders are always packed to the top and bulging. Secondly, they are outstanding value! Still only...

“Nostalgic snack”

Cheap, tasty, low fat

More-ish

Space Raiders crisps remind me of school....and they have never cost more than 10p a pack which is great! Made by KP, Space Raiders come in 3 flavours: Beef, Salt and Vinegar and of course Pickled Onion. They used to do Spicy Tomato and Cheese, but I have not seen these for some time now. The...

cheap, tasty, strong flavour

not the best quality, unhealthy

Yesterday I wrote an opinion on Walkers Sensations crisps. They most certainly come under the category of Posh Crisps. And sometimes posh crisps are good. If you’ve got a spare £1.19 to spend and want to eat crisps while still looking sophisticated and cool at the same time. The message you’re...

“Out Of This World Snack”

published 23/04/2003

lovely sour taste, thick, cheap

can become stale after a while

These snacks are my childhood all time favourite, they have changed in appearance since the time I first ate these and each time the quality rises another notch. These corn snacks used to have a triangular shape with thick rims, now the shape has changed into an oval alien shaped snack and 0.5 cm...

Cheap and extremely tasty.

Leaves you with bad breath.

Hands up out there anyone who loves crisps. I know I do and between them and chocolate the chances of me losing weight are very slim. I suppose the secret to dieting or simply losing a bit off the love handles is to stop eating these completely. If, however, you find that this is not possible, go...

“Yummy yummy in my tummy.....”

published 14/01/2003

Taste, price, size of pack

Can't always find them

I was walking to school to pick my little one up this afternoon with a grand total of 27p in my pocket and I was STARVING. I went into the newsagents hoping they'd got a special offer on the crisps...no such luck, I was at least 10p short even for the cheapest bag. Then I spied a box that said...

Cheap and tasty

Not very big bags, not as good a flavour as Ringos

Where I come from one company has the 10p bags of crisps market covered. That company would be the legendary Tayto (they are truly crisp pioneers you know). Alas Tayto are not widely available in Great Britain. You can occasionally find some of their 10p bags of crisps in independent newsagents...

Very Cheap, Quite Low In Fat

Not Very Good For You

What can you buy for 10p nowadays? When I was a kid we would go to the local newsagents and buy a 10p bag of sweets which would be full to the brim with sticky, sickly delights. Nowadays a similar bag of sweets will set you back around 50p which is a quite a chunk out of your pocket money if...

Cheap, good enough quality unmessy to eat

Bit bland in flavour for me

Today for my lunch I didnt fancy anything heavy or hot considering the weather more than a sandwich so I nipped to my local Spa shop to get a few bits and pieces and stumbled across bags of these costing only 20p and quite fancied them. The Packaging: The bag is quite bright and colourful, is...

“Alien Crisps!”

published 02/10/2011

cheap and tasty

nothing

Space raiders pickle onion flavour remind me of my days at primary school, we used to get a morning break where we were able to buy a snack of either a packet of three biscuits for 20p or a bag of space raiders for 10p. There was just something about the taste of these snacks that I just loved so...

Still only 10p

Strong flavour

After popping into my local corner shop for a paper, i always love to have a look at the crisp shelves. This is because theses small independent shops tend to sell some weird and wonderful products we never knew existed or have completely forgotten about. I had completely forgotten about space...

A cheap snack

Space the final frontier and all that nonsense ( sorry to all you Star Trek fans but that's what I feel about it). This crisp too has a stupid story on the back of it and I would tell you it but to be honest I never did read it, nor am I going to read it! Right this pickled onion flavour packet...
