I can see clearly now my eyes are done!

AdvantagesThorough and professional service.

DisadvantagesNone so far.

"...bad I immediately logged onto Specsavers web site and requested an appointment for early Saturday morning. The following morning at 09:00 hours a lady rang me from my local branch of spec savers asking if 09:00 on Saturday morning would be convenient. I said yes and would see them then. ===At the shop!=== ==Check in and testing.== I arrived at the shop approximately 5 minutes before they were due to open. I made my way to the reception desk and ..." Read review

Blind as a Bat Review with images

AdvantagesGood for the deals

DisadvantagesPoor for the eye test

"...and Mary Perkins. They launched Specsavers in 1984 and in the year 2002 had even ventured into hearing centres which would be run inside Specsaver stores as well. In the year 2008/2009 they made revenue of £1.2 billion pounds and it goes to show how capable they are at producing quality items which people keep returning for. === My Store === I have a Specsavers which is set on two floors, you have the upstairs for the contact lenses and downstairs ..." I need glasses =( Review with images

AdvantagesPrices, Special offers, Friendly staff

DisadvantagesWaiting... (often busy), Sometimes things aren't in stock so you need to wait a week

"When I was at university, I found the slides projected on the screen at the front blurry so I sat closer to the front at every opportunity but it wasn't always possible and even when nearer the front, it wasn't always clear. I thought it was all the projectors being out of focus but eventually deducted that I needed glasses so off I went to look for an optician. Wandered into Vision Express but being a student, saw their prices and walked straight ..." Read review

Now You See It, Now You Don't Diamond review

AdvantagesRange of prices

DisadvantagesWiting times, Staff

"...thing that defiantly goes in Specsavers favour is their range of prices, which will accommodate the tightest of budgets. I joined Specsavers when I was ten years old and told to wear glasses. I then left them to go privately when a teenager due to bad experiences and troubled vision although I still ordered contact lenses through them. I have recently re-registered with Specsavers at a new branch due to moving areas. What Specsavers Offer ..." Read review

Comfortable glasses that makes seeing better.

AdvantagesGreat range of frames/lenses, Very helpful/polite staff

DisadvantagesNothing!

"...an eye-test at my local Specsavers every 3 years (I get sent a reminder through the post), and nearly every time I go my eyes have changed slightly, so I always nearly need to buy new glasses. They always give me the often whether I want to choose new frames or whether I want to keep the frames and just get the lenses changed. I normally keep the same frame design; how-ever I have changed the frame design once, which was about 6 years ago now. Although ..." Read review

AdvantagesNone

DisadvantagesRude,impatient staff,poor customer service

"I went to Specsavers for an eye test and was given a prescription and then got glasses from them. I was happy enough with the service at this time, although I didn't get much time from the optician and he didn't realy explain when I should wear my glasses or what my prescription meant. I left happy that I had glasses that improved my distance vision but unsure as to when I should wear them. After a few months I went back to ask if I could wear ..." Read review

Specsavers know I can live without money but not without glasses!

AdvantagesClear prices

DisadvantagesOnline booking needs improvement

"...mirror! What I like most about Specsavers is that they have such a large range of designs to choose from. They also have a clear price policy with basic prices starting at £25 ranging through to £45, £75, and £85. They also have a wide variety of designer frames starting at £125 through to £169. Each category of glasses is clearly visible and each pair has a corresponding colour coded sticker on one of the lenses so you can identify the price, in ..." Read review

Specsavers in Barry

AdvantagesExcellent service cheap glasses

Disadvantageshaving to pay on ordering

"...chose specsavers=== I decided to give specsavers a try and I can honeslty say that it was for one reason and one reason only and that was there buy one get one free offer on all glasses priced at £75 or over. I thought this was a good offer as my dad wears glasses and I know he has paid well over £200 for one pair of glasses so £75 minimum for 2 pairs seemed a bargin. Specsavers are very good at advertising, there are always adverts on the ..." Read review

An eye for an eye

AdvantagesLarge range of glasses, competitively priced, two for one.

DisadvantagesToo quick re testing, prone to errors

"...of opticians and have used Specsavers on a number of occasions. Now I know branches can vary, however my experience has not been particularly good. I have one eye a little weaker than the other, and need regular changes to my prescription. On two separate and unrelated visits they mixed the two lenses up which obviously did not help a great deal. If you happen to wear glasses, you are always told with new spectacles that it takes a while to adjust ..." Read review

View From a First Time Specs Warer...

AdvantagesWide range of specs, good advice, thorough test, friendly staff, lots of branches

DisadvantagesNot all branches open on a Sunday

"...to get any. My Visit: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I phoned SpecSavers to make my appointment, mainly down to the advertising - there's plenty of opticians in my town, but SpecSavers were the first that came to mind. There are two branches of SpecSavers in my town - one on the High Street and one in Morrisons supermarket. My appointment was at the High Street branch. On arrival I was met by a receptionist who gave me a pre-test. She was a friendly ..." Read review

I look cool again!

AdvantagesSurprisingly good service, cheap!

DisadvantagesFeel sorry for the local optician

"...DO THEY OFFER?? -------------------------------------------------- To be simplistic, Specsavers basically an optician with a large shop attached. They offer - - the usual range of sight tests, including free NHS tests for those who qualify. Sometimes you can just turn up without an appointment. - a huge range of glasses - contact lens fitting / supplies - lensed goggles! - digital hearing aids (randomly!) - but you have to go to one ..." Eye Care for all

AdvantagesFast efficient and friendly service

Disadvantagesnone

"Specsavers is owned by Doug and Mary Perkins, who originally owned a small chain of opticians in the West Country, before moving to Guernsey. In the early 1980's the optical industry was de-regulated, allowing opticians to advertise their business and products for the first time, thus Specsavers was born in the back bedroom of their home. The first branches, in Guernsey and Bristol, were shortly followed by many others, and by 1988 they had 100 ..." Read review

Billy Nibbles Is Now A Four-Eyed Old Git. Official

AdvantagesComprehensive service

DisadvantagesBusy. Beware that 'free' extra pair.

"……and they say that lightning never strikes twice. There I was only a couple of weeks ago making a comment on Tagheur’s opinion of Vision Express, and now here I am describing my experience of Spec Savers, another one of the several chains of opticians to spring up in the wake of the liberalisation of the ‘eye’ industry. When I made my comment on Jeff’s opinion, I was only at the ‘regular eye test’ stage, having never bought anything more expensive ..." Read review

"...to the same branch of Specsavers for many years. I do not remember my first trip when I was given my glasses and for years, didn't bother to wear them, They weren't essential and I was told only to wear them when my eyes felt tired. Fast-forward 7 years, and I am still with the same branch of Specsavers. My eyesight has gotten slightly worse over the years and now I'm driving, I have to wear my glasses for this, as I am a little short sighted ..." Read review

The whole world looks different this afternoon

AdvantagesPrices set out so you know exactly what you have to pay

Disadvantagesnothing negative at all

"...her how about seeing if Specsavers have an appointment free for today. They did. I took 20 minutes to test her eyes and yes she did need glasses and was told they could not have changed that much from not needing them to how they were today in such a short time. Next was to choose the glasses that suited her. What I liked very much was the set out of the glasses. Not only did they separate the mens from the womans but they had them in 6 different ..."
