Advantages: Keeps You Fit and Healthy, Social, Playable Age Range: 10-60 Disadvantages: Injuries,
...reviewer described the sport of squash so accurately that there is very little I could add. In my review I will describe why I play squash and what I think you will gain from taking up squash as a sport.
I am now 44 and I have been playing sqaush for over 20 years . I have kept myself relatively fit playing sports but more recently, I have found it become increasingly difficult to keep my waistline under control !
The main reason I play squash ... ...the local West of Scotland Squash League. The game is suitable for all standards, though I wouldn't recommend anyone taking it up from scratch unless they are already reasonably fit. The sad thing about the game is that there are relatively few young kids that play, this is probably an image thing - squahs gets very little TV airtime and is not profiled as a high earning sport like tennis. Most of the members of the opposing teams we play are, like ...

Advantages: Improves your stamina, tones your body, stretches muscles and provides fun and exhilaration Disadvantages: Court prices are quite high.
Our family sport is Squash - my father, mother, and older brother and sister all play to a high standard. At the age of 11, my parents thought it was time to coach and train me at our local sports centre.
14 years on, I have gone from strength to strength, and I find squash to be one of the most physically demanding activities a person can do.
==What is squash?==
Squash is an indoor racquet game played by two opposing players in a four walled ... ...==Types of ball==
A squash ball is typically green in colour, but there is usually a tiny coloured dot on this ball unless you play with a white or a double dotted ball. This coloured dot signifies the level of skill of the player and the difficulty of using that ball. The varying dots are as follows:
Blue - For Beginner level players. The ball is easy to return because it bounces very high, whether or not the ball is warmed up. No need to run ...

Advantages: energetic, great for burning calories, a game which can be played by families or couples Disadvantages: some injuries can't be avoided but no pain, no gain!
I love squash as a game. Its on of the few sports you can have a decent workout on your own. Just book yourself a court and hammer the ball against a wall. Gets rid of the stress, burns the calories (about 750 clas per 45 minute session), increases the heart rate and just makes you feel knackered and destressed.
I started playing squash about 25 years ago and loved it. I've played on and off now for all that time. Currently I play two or three times ... ...and use a game of squash as a good excuse to get out and let them do as they want as well. But it works for us and we have a great laugh together over it.
As some will tell you, it can be dangerous as a result of hurtling round a small court at full pelt stretching for balls and hitting yourself against walls. My wife has hit me more than a few times with stinging shots where the ball has hit me on the back, the side, the back of the head and once, ...

Advantages: fun, good for you, not too expensive Disadvantages: can get some nasty injuries!
...around 1830, the game of squash came about when the pupils discovered that if playing Rackets with a punctured ball, which was "squashed" on impact, a new game was created that involved a higher skill level and a far wider range of shots than Rackets, its predecessor. Squash is now an incredibly popular game worldwide, the World Squash Federation having 109 National Squash Associations as members. It is not an Olympic sport yet, but the WSF is strongly ... ...My fiance has been playing squash for several years, and finally managed to convince me to play one day. I haven't looked back since.
THE GAME:
Squash is played on an indoor court, the floor area of which is 62.4 square metres. The whole floor is the playing area, as are most of the walls: the playing area of the walls slopes down from the far end of the squash court to the serving end.
The walls themselves are solid, usually made of brick or ...

Advantages: really friendly Disadvantages: absolutely none at all
The Birmingham Squash Rackets Centre based on Rotton Park Road in Edgbaston is certainly the best sporting establishment I have ever visted. (and I have been to a fair few!!) The club facilities include 7 squash courts, 2 gyms, sauna and sunbed as well as running highly successfull football and squash teams. The club combines fitness with fun and the social side of the club is the most friendly I have ever encountered. It seems to have become a second ...

Advantages: Powerful, easy to restring, good back-up from Head Disadvantages: High price, maybe not very strong
...owner of the Head Ti160 squash racket. I look for a strong racket and as this is quite "chunky" i selected this one. I had a knock up and it seemed very powerful. I bought this for £90 which was quite expensive you can now buy one for £60. The racket weighs 160 grams which is about average. It looks good and is easy to restring. However this racket is not as strong as some rackets because it is made of titanium. I am now on my third Head Ti 160 each ...

Advantages: Entertaining, Sociable, Life-extending Disadvantages: You may be beaten by old people
Squash is unquestionably one of the best sports ever created and I implore anyone reading this review to give it a try. Put simply it involves hitting a small green or black ball with various coloured dots, which relate to speed, around a small tape covered room. There are lines of tape that indicate which areas are out of bounds and a large T on the floor with two service boxes. The serve is played from one service box to the other side of the court, ... ...let will not be given. Squash can be played as doubles, with two players on each team, and generally involves individuals going for forehand or backhand shots, essentially taking one half of the court each. I think that it is now a requirement for people to wear goggles when playing doubles, but this is however only going to be enforced in high-ranking matches and tournaments. Generally, it is advisable to wear goggles when playing squash, especially ...

Advantages: keeps you fit, social, strategic Disadvantages: knee strain
Squash is a very tactical game involving two players (or four for doubles) in a four wall hall holding raquets, the aim is to hit the rubber ball against the opposite wall, in between the two lines repeatedly, scoring points. The court is marked with two serving boxes. Which ball used in the game defers the speed and bounce of the ball, as they are colour coded. this varies the game difficulty and experience level. Squash is a very demanding game ... ...I tend to play squash as it socialises me with people and keeps you very fit in a fun way. I also like tennis but i believe squash pushes me to the next level as it is more challenging and a worlwide sport. The only bad points is the strain caused on the knees for old or younger players, but proper shoes etc should help this matter. I would recommend anyone to have a go at squash but be warned its hard work and a small level of fitness is needed. ...
