Advantages: very confortable Disadvantages: parts expencive
Hi!
The ssangyong musso is manufactured by the south Korean automobile manufacturer ( SSANG YONG MOTOR COMPANY ). It was first produced in 1993 with Mercedes petrol or diesel engine.
We bought a 1996 2.9 diesel ssangyong musso about six months ago of my husband cousin. The car had the six months test and he assume us that there is not much wrong with the car. He just wont it to sell it or crush it because he was needed spaces for the new car. When ... ...the hand break cable for ssangyong musso. We try to find a second hand one - ups there is non, try ebay- non. We been told that some of parts from deawe musso will fit but that was lot of rubbish. we search on the internet and bit of look we find a shop who does ssangyong musso parts and was not to far. So after having a game to just find a break cable it has to be order from Korea and the full hand break cable will cost £160. then the breaks full ...

Advantages: Massive towing capacity, V Good economy, quiet, comfortable and spacious Disadvantages: Spare parts can be hard to find locally
OK, so it's a bit big, but it's quiet, smooth, corners better than many a normal car and has the very impressive 2.9 Merc diesel to make it all move.
I get 39 MPG even living in the Peak District of Derbyshire and even towing my 1 ton caravan I still get 29 MPG. Despite many an attempt I've still not managed to get it stuck anywhere in either mud or snow. If you are really serious it has a low box and diff locks too, but I've never needed them yet.
... ...drive at any speed up to 50 MPH without declutching and rather than wrestle with a second gear shift lever it's controlled by a small rotary swith no bigger than an old 10p that's a doddle to use.
It's very quick up to around 30 MPH, then a bit sluggish up to around 50, but after that it's away. The power band is 2,500 - 4000 RPM, keep the engine there and it'll take you anywhere.
There are spare parts dealers in the UK, and mechanically it's worth ...

Advantages: Mercedes engines, bold styling Disadvantages: Limited servicing support
Price used £3820-£7420
Value Lots of room for the money; more refined than most mid-market 4x4 models. Costs Diesels fuel-efficient but petrol models quite thirsty; parts and servicing dear. Reliability Mercedes engines hugely dependable if looked after; build quality not the best. Driving Switchable 4WD; direct steering, safe car-like handling; diesels ride fairly smoothly, but petrol cars are choppier. Performance GX220 is fastest in class; 2.3 ... ...much better. Comfort Roomy with enormous load capacity but no load cover; trim materials look cheap; confusing controls/switchgear. Image Not for the shy and retiring; flash but odd looks; may do better as a Daewoo. Safety ABS on GSE/GLS/GX220; airbag option from 1997 (std on 2.3 GLS, 2.9 TD). Security Immobiliser only - get an alarm. CarCheck Body: Damage to lower body and underbody from off-road use Engine/Gearbox: No problems reported so far; ...

Advantages: Space, durability, comfort. Bullet proof engine/box(Mercedes) Disadvantages: Brand name, parts expensive/hard to get
I recently bought this 4x4 of a friends next door, 60,000 miles she had bought it from new. Perfect for moving kids and shopping about, lot of space, very comfortable, great heater etc.
The diesel engine (non-turbo) is very slugish and slow to get going, but the vehicle isn't intended for race tracks, very able off road. All in all, i'm happy with my perchase and whole heartly recommend to anyone, only downside I can think is the diesel is slow ...

Advantages: Excelent in very poor road conditions Disadvantages: Availability of agents - spares
The Musso I have is a 602 1998 model. I have had it for 135,000 km. The vehicle it self is excellent. The gearbox and gear change is horrible. The dealer from whom I bought it refurbished the gearbox. 70000 km latter the same problem reoccurred when main drive packed up again a caused major damaged to the rest of the box. R18000 later it was back in service. The cost was pushed up by very high spare prices from local Musso dealer. Any spares are ... ...I always said Toyota was expensive. The Musso Viscose fan clutch cost double the price of Toyotas. On the Musso you cannot get any kits like slave cylinder and master cylinders, gearshift bushes you have to buy complete units. That is if you are in Gauteng province. Outside that God helps you. I say do not buy stay away not the vehicle fault, the agents are the problem. ...
