Advantages Advantages Very thorough, leaves skin feeling soft and smooth

Disadvantages Disadvantages Quite painful to use, takes a while for skin to calm afterwards

I've suffered with bouts of acne rosacea since the age of 17 (I'm now 23), and although my condition has finally gone I couldn't have done it without a few brilliant products, and this is one of them. I only ever had the breakouts on my chin but they were sore, red, itchy and unsightly and would turn up on my skin about twice a month. I have tried many other face scrubs but have found them to be too gentle, so when I picked up St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub I was delighted to read that the exfoliating particles were actually pieces of walnut shell. This, I thought, will do the trick ... more

Advantages Advantages good price, doesn't dry out skin, smooths skin, nice smell + texture

Disadvantages Disadvantages not quick to use, doesn't get rid of blemishes that well

Well to be quite honest, I've been a bit disappointed by the existing reviews on this product. This one is certainly going to be better than anything else you have ever seen before! I've really put a lot of time and effort into this, because I really want to show you a good review once and for all. So no nasty comments please..and none telling me there is too little information! Summary of everything: -It is a facial scrub, aimed at blemished skin -Nice smell and texture -About £4 -Can be used daily -Doesn't get rid of blemishes very well -Leaves skin feeling soft and smooth -Easy to use, just ... more

Advantages Advantages You can feel the dirt being lifted away

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not a huge difference after 7 days

I saw an advert for the new St. Ives range of face cleansers and exfoliators on the television and was attracted by the claim that after 7 days of use, skin would feel noticeably healthier. I was even more pleased when I went down to Superdrug and there was an introductory offer on all the products! I paid £1.99 for a 150ml tube of the scrub (it normally costs £2.99) as I was attracted by the bright white bottle. I thought that made the product really sell that it would give you spot free skin! There is a picture of apricots on the front and across the top it states that you will have ... more

Advantages Advantages Skin looked fresher after first use

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

Although I don't have a huge amount of spots exactly, my skin could never be described as being clear either.I have to say though, it looked a lot clearer after this! Blemish Control Apricot Scrub comes in a 150 ml white tube with blue writing and a picture of some apricots. Not the most exciting of packages, makes it look more like something your gran would buy to be honest. But put your plain package prejudices aside, because this product is such good value you wouldn't believe! You don't need an awful lot, so it goes a long way and it costs about 3.50 at the very most (you may be lucky and ... more

Advantages Advantages great for oily skin

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

Ok so this is a face scrub but it is meant to be gentle enough for day to day use. If you want to buy a 150ml tube it costs around £4.00 which I think is reasonable. I know that it is called an apricot scrub but I wouldn't say it really smells of apricot or indeed any fruit. The blurb on the back say it contains more than 85% naturally derived ingredients, including Swiss glacial water and Swiss botanicals which sounds pretty impressive I think. The consistency of this is very thick and quite creamy with scrubby bits in. Once on your face it lathers a bit and then washes off nicely. My skin ... more

Advantages Advantages It worked, Feels Amazing

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None for me

I picked up this product after a sudden out burst of bad skin. I generally have quite oily skin but all of a sudden, I got these disgusting sort of black heads which look as though they are trapped under the skin. I have been using this product for about ten days now and they are nearly all gone plus my skins looks very freshed faced and all for under £3!!!! It can make your face quite red but it calms down ater a couple of minutes. Its great for the morinings, it makes you look very awake! I use the scrub every morning and night but once my skin has totally cleared I may just use it once a ... more

    Advantages Advantages Soft, clean skin

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can be harsh and scratchy

I decided to try this product because a friend of mine uses it and she thinks it's great. Reviews that I have read of this product are generally quite positive and an advert I saw said that it was the no.1 selling scrub in the UK. I also liked the idea of using a product with more natural ingredients and was pleased to find out that St. Ives does not test on animals :-). I bought the product from Superdrug where I found that it was on a special offer (B.O.G.O.F.). Packaging """""""""""""""" St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub comes in a white tube with a blue lid and blue writing. The ... more

Advantages Advantages Does what it says it will, skin feels really clean afterwards

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can be drying, not often in stock at my local supermarket !

This is one of the few face washes/exfoliators I've found that does exactly what it says it will and doesn't make my skin feel tight or greasy afterwards. Pros are: - It actually does control blemishes, or at least dries them out and helps get rid of them. I'm also quite sure it helps to heal coldsores when I get them as well. I think it must dry them out too, and so they heal faster. If I get spots one day and wash my face with this scrub that same day, the spots aren't usually noticeable by the next morning, if they haven't gone away completely. - Makes your skin feel really soft after use ... more

Advantages Advantages does not dry the skin out but does gently exfoliate even 'mature' skin

Disadvantages Disadvantages none that I could discover, agrees with me where other scrubs did not

The reliable thing about St Ives toiletries is that they actually do what they say they do, but they do it cheaper than many of the more expensive brands. I admit that I stock up on this pleasant apricot scrub when it is on BOGOF. Having said that I would willingly pay the going rate for it as it REALLY does work. It does have a very subtle fruity aroma and is a nice 'peachy' colour, but what is really important is that is is not rough on your skin, regardless of what type of skin you have. I am 41 and my skin is greasy in bits, dry in others and I am prone to big PMS spots. This product helps ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap, effective, gentle enough to use every day

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

I started buying this about 4 years ago as it said it controlled blemishes and that was what I needed at the time. It did what it said on the tube and stopped most of my spots coming, so I stopped using it and the spots came back! Lesson learnt I went and bought another tube, and now always make sure there is a tube in my bathroom It is a very gentle exfolient and it doesn't feel like it's doing much, but clearly it is! It really is gentle enough to use every day, I like using it in the morning as it leaves your skin lovely and smooth ready for moisturiser and make-up. For the price that it is ... more
