Advantages Advantages Graphics, plotline, rather addictive and the general cuteness!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Inconsistency with difficulty...not enough Arwing flying scenes.

You can immediately tell what I am doing with my time when I come up with a second games review for the Gamecube, a console which I've never had any great interest in before we got to this time of year! Whether or not you like the game Starfox Adventures really depends entirely on whether you are expecting the typical Starfox shoot 'em up in his classic Arwing. Because if you are, you may well be disappointed. There are aspects of that in getting to the other worlds, but by and large Starfox Adventures is more of a platform puzzle game, and to give credit a good one at that. (And yes, I know I ... more

Advantages Advantages Great Graphics/ Fun To Play

Disadvantages Disadvantages Replay Value Is Minimal/ Combat System Isn't Great

Number of players: 1 Memory Card: Required to save data. ( 3 - blocks of space needed.) Rumble Feature: Works on this game. This game was originally going to be released on the Nintendo 64 under the name of Dinosaur planet. That is until Rare and Nintendo discovered that they were working on similar projects - so they merged their plans together. Then the games release date was delayed. It was eventually released on the Nintendo Gamecube under the name of "Star Fox Adventures". Star Fox Adventures is the last game to be produced by Rare for Nintendo, as Rare have since been bought by Microsoft ... more

Advantages Advantages Great adventuring, amazing graphics

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Terrible combat system

Starfox Adventures: The last Rare game on any Nintendo home console(Game Boy Advance games will continue) and should've been one of the best, looking at the power of the Gamecube. It does happen to be quite entertaining at times, and is a solid game overall, but there are a few blindingly obvious flaws that all point to the fact that Rare couldn't wait to start making games for Microsofts XBOX. Story: Right. 8 years after demolishing Andross(in Lylat Wars, N64 1998) through the Arwing, Fox McCloud, Slippy Toad and Peppy Hare are searching the galaxy for any trouble to counter. Eventualy, a ... more

Advantages Advantages Top graphics and sound with a varied and fun style of play.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Will be too short and easy for some, with a disappointing combat system.

Considering Starfox Adventures has encountered delays and setbacks ever since it was announced all those years ago for the N64 as ‘Dinosaur Planet’, gamers should be expecting nothing short of stunning. It also happens to be a joint project between Rare and Nintendo, arguably two of the greatest developers today. However, the release of this game marks the end of a beautiful partnership between the two, as Rare join Microsoft after a $375,000,000 buyout. Needless to say then, this game was destined to be something special. To start on a positive note, the graphics in Starfox Adventures are the ... more

Advantages Advantages It's Rare! The graphics are in a league of their own

Disadvantages Disadvantages A lot of perhaps needless running about

Ask any die-hard Nintendo fan what the worst news they heard in the last six months was regarding their little cube of joy and it will undoubtedly be the departure of Rare from Nintendo to Mr Gates and his big X-shaped box of pants. For anyone not in the know about Rare, they WERE a second party company who produced games for Nintendo. They are situated in Twycross and are responsible for some of the most breathtaking games on both the SNES and N64. The most famous of which will be the Donkey Kong Country series on the SNES, as well as Goldeneye & Perfect Dark on the N64. Needless to say ... more

Advantages Advantages very sweet graphics with good controls

    Disadvantages Disadvantages far too linear

Many could say that this game is very much the 'matured' version of the new cel shaded Zelda. This is sadly far from the truth as I review the last game good old Rare will make for Nintendo. The new Zelda changes the way we view games but Starfox Adventures just adds to the list of titles that use 'normal' graphics to present the game. As much as we have all seen this style of presentation before, in games such as Final Fantasty and Jack and Daxter, Starfox Adventures is beautyful to look at. The graphics make Dinosaur Planet look stunning, with areas of fire near volcanoes, ice near a ... more

Advantages Advantages Good graphics,Good fun and a BIG game

Disadvantages Disadvantages Rares last! The button bashing section is hard!!!

When I brought this game I had no idea what it was about I just had faith in it. It was made by Rare and they have never let Nintendo down before. So I paid my £40 returned home and placed the shiny orange and purple disk into my Gamecube.......... The first thing that hit me about this game was the stunning graphics. The animation on fox and his surroundings are truly brilliant. All the individual hairs stand out and the entire game is bright and colourful. There is no fogging in the game and it is all clear and very bright! The storyline is a classic Rare one and it is that Fox must save the ... more

    Advantages Advantages Absolutly Amazing graphics.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Dull, Dull oh and did i say dull?

Ever since nintendo announced that the N64 game Dinosaur Planet had become the GCN game Star Fox: Dinosaur Planet (Later changed to Star Fox Adventures) I was a bit skeptical about how well the game would manage to turn out. And I'm here to say that all my fears and negative thoughts about this game have come into fruition! This isn't to say that the game gets it all wrong, infact it gets some things very right. For instance the aspect that most critics and fans have been praising for quite some time: the graphics. The cutscenes manage to be astounding, displaying cutting edge furshading ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Horrifically linear

Possibly one of the most anticipated games on Gamecube. Originally rumoured to be over 80 hours long, and with some of the best graphics ever seen on any console, it was going to have to be a hit..wasn't it? Starfox Adventures, a tail (sorry!) of Fox McCloud, set 8 years after he, along with Peppy Hare and Slippy Toad, destroyed and ended the reign of Andross, find themselves in a mission to save Dinosaur Planet, after the team recieve a distress call from the planet. The evil General Scales has taken the 6 Krazoa spirits, which bind the planet together, and counterract the planet's natural ... more

I can remember the days of the Super nintendo, nintendos classic flagship.Starwing(stafox for everyone else outside of europe).when this came out it was revolutionary for the console, nintendo where really pushing that old banger to the limits, and made it a hit. Then came starfox 64,which was pretty good also. Now there is Starfox Adventures. As far as Action and adventure games go,this game is one of the first ive played that keeps you interested in playing it. The charicters are very well detailed with plenty of animation and the levels and landscapes are full of detail,it will take you hours ... more
