Advantages: Excellent graphics, involving gameplay Disadvantages: Limited number of ships
Star Trek: Armada is, to put it quite frankly, a masterpiece. It has excellent graphics, five campaigns (Federation, Klingon, Romulan, Borg and a special "Finale" set of missions), four races, each with both familiar ships from the Star Trek series (e.g. the Sovereign, Defiant, and of course the Borg Cube) and also several new vessels (e.g. the Romulan Shadow class). The game also has an involving storyline.
After watching the impressive intro movie, ... ...Borg, Romulan Admiral Sela and would-be Klingon usurper Toral, you get to choose from one of the four initial campaigns, or an Instant Action/Multiplayer mode.
The Federation missions are your basic introduction - they introduce you to the game's controls and are not too challenging. They also set up a fair few of the game's plots - the first mission introduces the USS Premonition, a Federation ship from the future, and our favourite bad guys, the ...

...the familiar aliens of the Star Trek series. This includes the dreaded BORG.
From the initial graphics of the Enterprise flying across you screen you are drawn deeper and deeper into the game. There are times when you feel you might not complete your mission, but persist and you shall be rewarded. usually with a massive battle against the BORG.
On first starting the game the area of space you are in is uncharted. It is your task to both complete ... ...confirm your decision in typical Star Trek jargon. The exploration and mission completion take you to a final scenario which when completed lets you go on to the next mission. It is not by any means a complicated game but it is very strategic and absorbing.
During your mission you will be ordered by Starfleet to build certain things i.e. Space Stations Mining Stations. On each screen/mini mission there is a Moon which is rich in Dilithium, it is ...

Advantages: good graphics brilliant game play Disadvantages: only 4 races to choose from
...I had bought and played star trek armada two, I no it should go the other way round but I didn’t see the first one then.
Although the first game isn’t as good as the second one it is still quite a good game to play for star trek fans like me! Well I prefer the games to the series.
Any way in this game you can choose between four different races to be e.g. Federation/ Borg/ Klingon and I don’t remember the other one unfortunately as I have uninstalled ... ...version of windows, but I still managed to play the game and finish it so it wasn’t so bad.
The graphics are really good compared to some other games I no which are also the same age as this game and you can build starbases to harvest resources and construct your armada, you can also board derelict vessels and repair them to add to your fleet. You get over thirty ships and special weapons such as phasers photon torpedoes, quantum torpedoes etc to ...

Advantages: Game play, Story line, Graphics Disadvantages: None
The story line of Star Trek Armada is where the Borg have come to take over the Alpha Quadrant and gain the Omega particle.
The player gets to choose from four campaigns which are the Federation, Klingon, Romulan and of cause the Borg. Each campaign is meant to be happening at the same time as one another.
The Federation campaign begins with the USS Enterprise E going into an almost destroyed section where starbases are damaged and ships are uncrewed. ... ...I would recommend this game for Star Tek fans as well as anyone that is interested in real time 3D space strategy games.

...I am a self confessed star trek fan so I usually like this type of game anyway but this game was fantastic. Its just soo adictive. On the gameplay front its very reminicant of comand and conquer type games but there is just soo much more, the storyline that runs through the game pulls you on and forces you to complete mission after mission even though you may still be up at 3am in the morning. The graphics are pretty darn good too - full 3d ships ... ...or destroyed in dipendintly. The funnest thing about the game however is beaming troops aboard an enemy ship and capturing it.. Especially when you do it to borg cubes when you are the piddley federation. A must for everyone, even if you are not a Star Trek fan. ...

This game is really for the Start Trek fan, as non-Trekers will find it more difficult to understand the nuiences of each particular race under their command. The context of the game will be instntly recognisable as it carries on from where DS9 finished. Superb attention to detail in the characters, technology and space ships. I couldn't stop playing this game once I started, and I don't recommend playing this game if you have loving partners at ... ...and it could put your relationships in jepordy! Another thing to bear in mind is the grahics capability of your PC, if you haven't got a decent modern machine with good 3D or 3D emulatable capability don't waste your money. It's worth going to the Activision website to check wether your PC is capable of running the game, noteably the compatability of your grahpics card, although you may be able to download a patch. All in all an excellent game IF ...

...is a must for any star trek fan. Even if you don't overly like star trek, like myself, you still can enjoy this game. Advantages: good fun good graphics great gameplay Disadvantages: tiny bit short mission wise but always the multiplayer makes up for that either against computer enemies or across the net
...stratergy game and thought about star trek armada but u were worried u had to be a trekkie. dont worrie this is one of the best stratergy games out at the moment and i dont even have a clue who the romulans are i just know there ships dissaper every now and again.

The graphics are really good and the units ... ...new depth to the normal old regular metal and energy but instead something called dilithium mined from moons. the metal stuff. then there is also crew and officers needed to run the ships its all rather clever really.
Its really good fun to play and the computer can use some very devious tactics if u want it too using all of the available technologies. I have nt found it yet falling in to the same game plan over and over. ...

Advantages: Good game Disadvantages: I had problems
As a Star Trek fan I could not resist the fact that there was a game which gave you control of the familiar arsenal of the four main races of the galaxy. Well here was the chance for you to take the helm in a command and conquer style interface.
