    Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic Is a game based on the Star Wars universe and it is a Role Playing Game (RPG) developed by Bioware. The game was released on the PC and XBOX in 2003, Bioware have released other classic games such as Baldurs Gate 1 & 2 (A favourite of mine) Neverwinter Nights and more recently the Mass Effect Games and Dragon Age:Origins amongst others a highly impressive resume.     I'd been wanting to get my hands on Knights of the Old Republic for quite a while, so when I saw it for a tenner at Blockbuster, it just had to be mine. (Especially as I'd already worked up enough credit from trading in some seriously bad movies that for some reason I'd taken it into my head to get once upon a time…) Overview KOTOR is the first serious attempt at a Star Wars RPG (at least unless I've missed some).     Knights of the Old Republic is a third person RPG set in the star wars universe in an era before any of the films are set. In this time period, the mandalorian wars have finished and the Jedi and Sith are battling for control of the Galaxy. The game begins with you on a spaceship that is under attack battling to save Ballista, a Jedi with the 'Battle Meditation' special power who can turn the tide of the war.     Unlike many Star Wars games, where the action is based in the era of Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader, or Darth Maul and Obi-Wan, Knights of the Old Republic is based 4000 years earlier.     Advantages Advantages One of the best game's ive played, it was such a pleasure.

    Ok.. so I decided to write a review of a videogame instead of some bad Star Trek. When searching for this product, i'm pretty sure the picture given is "Star Wars The Old Republic" which is a game currently in development, and one I am not interested about in the least. So where will this review turn up..?     Story The game is set over 4000 years before the films, although most of the aliens can be recognised from the films, you take on the role of a what seems to be an ordinary Republican soldier during a war between the Republic and the Sith, the imperials. The game starts of with you waking up on a Republic ship with no memory of who you are or why you are here, and the story starts from here.     This game is, in my opinion, one of the best rpg games of all time. The characters are all intricate and complex, which makes it easy for you to intereact with them, and actually form a bond with the characters. The storyline is immense, spanning numerous planets in the fringe system of the star wars universe.     Advantages Advantages Contains things never available to players in other Star Wars games.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None that I can see except there's no feat that leats you throw objects with the Force.

    This game is fantastic! Prior to getting a copy of KOTOR, I kept hearing that it became 2004's Game Of The Year and when I finally was able to get a copy, I tried it out. I can see why Knights Of The Old Republic recieved the Game Of The Year title. Once I started playing, I had a lot of trouble stopping. I was so into it, it even took me until about 9 or 10 pm to stop playing so I could have some dinner. What I love about this game is that you learn some things you never knew before. Like, I never knew there was a Jedi academy on Dantooine. Also, you learn some things you never knew before ... more
