Advantages Advantages Amazing sound, makes you sound good

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not a good teaching instrument

I am primarily a french horn player, but like most musicians I also dabble in the black art of playing the piano. I have played on many different pianos over the years and Steinways are, without a doubt, my favourite instruments to play on. I think the ones I have played on have been mostly model Ds. Advantages Advantages Everthing, except...

    Disadvantages Disadvantages the cost!

Steinway pianos are how all pianos should be made. Once you have played on one, you will be so tempted to get that second mortgage and sell the car to get one for yourself. The only problem with these pianos is the price. Ranging from over £20,000 to well over £100,000. At this price only very few can afford to own one. My advise? Do everything you can to raise the cash, and just go for it! ... more
