As an IT teacher I am often trying to find new ways to make the subject interesting, for me one of the ways of doing this is to teach about the history of Computers and IT and the way that things have developed. To do this I often use Youtube and videos of Steve Jobs introducing Macintosh and iPod and iPhone, the students find these fascinating. With all of this is mind I was bought a copy of the Steve Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson for my birthday in June, after I had plowed through the other books in my book pile I got this one, it is very rare that I have looked forward to reading a book ... more

I'll admit i thought this book would just be a cynical way to "cash in" on the sad passing of the late steve jobs who was easily the best and most creative inverntor of our time but this book gave excellent insight into both Mr Jobs' s creativeness where it came from and how it developed but also the hardships he endured though out his life. That being said the book is well written but there is something missing that can't quite be pinned down perhaps a personal touch maybe although it tells many stories of Jobs in a rather harsh light of him bullying various people in his life but it also ... more
