Advantages: Cute packaging, handy handbag sized Disadvantages: Not so great for dry / problem skins
...often drawn to my local Stila counter due to the really great packaging of their stuff, so after being helped by a sales assistant I came away with the illuminating powder. I think this is probably great for normal, problem free skins, but as my skin is neither of those, not so good. My skin is combination combined with the odd flare up of eczema. When it's at its worst all the foundation does is stick to dry the bits and make me look completely ... ...When my skin is behaving, I don't have the wierd patches but I still look like I've obviously got base on, and still need a concealer on bits. As recommended I've tried using a damp sponge to apply it, but it doesn't really help. The sales assistant also said it would help sort out my oily patches (lie). Like any other pressed face powder I've tried it needs frequent re-application during the day.
So I'd probably say, don't spend the money. Go the ...

Advantages: Amazing foundation -- with powder, illumination and sunscreen as well! Disadvantages: Price maybe -- not cheap
...all good. Stila do say you can apply it with a wet sponge for greater coverage, but I've never had much success with that, it always seems to leave a film on top of the compact that's hard to get off, but I'm not fussed about that because I'm so pleased with the product dry. ...
