An essential piece of baby equipment

Advantages: Beautiful to look at, safe and comfortable
Disadvantages: None

We bought a Stokke Tripp Trapp after strong recommendations from several friends, and if I am honest, because of the way it looks. The Stokke is a lovely chair, in a different league to other high chairs on the market. Its a sleek wooden high chair and comes in a wide range of colours and finishes. We bought from a specialist site called back in action as they have a nice "design" facility on their website which helps you choose colours and accessories. ...
...clean. Looks aside, the Stokke has many other things going for it. The design is simple and it is easy to assemble, and to adjust over time as your baby grows. The idea of this chair is that with adjustments it will last as a chair for your child for years, and I do have several friends whose older children continue to use theirs. The chair has also converted me to the idea of having the baby at the table. We always eat together and this makes meal ...

An amazing innovation

Advantages: Amazing longevity, looks good
Disadvantages: Price, no purpose built anchorage straps

Tripp Trapp chair By Stokke A fully adjustable child’s chair constructed in quality wood and designed by Peter Opsvick. It is suitable for babies from around 6 months to 99 years, and is probably the only chair completely geared to accommodate a growing child. The chair costs £147 complete from Stokke direct, and can be reviewed on the Internet. Available in most countries by mail order, Stokke has sold over three and a half million Tripp Trapp ...

Review of Stokke Tripp Trapp Chair

I love this chair!

Advantages: Excellent quality, really solid, baby can join in family meals at the table
Disadvantages: Personally haven't found any yet.....

I'm so pleased with this chair! The Tripp Trapp is a Swedish design which has been developed in order to grow with your baby right through to adulthood. They have been around for ages, and I know various family friends who have had the same chair(s) for twenty-five years, now using them at the computer or still at the kitchen table. So the longevity of a product like that is a distinct advantage, particularly since with highchairs the usual shelf-life ...
.../ cellar after a few years. The quality of the wood, and the design, contributes to this longevity. It really feels solid. You have to build it yourself but it's only a few parts and the instructions are very easy to follow. If you're buying for a baby then you need to buy the baby kit, which comprises of a higher curved back and a front rail with strap which goes between the legs. You can then also buy a cushion which makes it very snug. With ...

Tripp Trapp deserves its praise

Advantages: Seems to help children learn better from parents and to be more content
Disadvantages: Not suitable for breakfast bars.

...saw an advert for a Stokke Tripp Trapp with a crying child and the expression "its OK" and the perversity of this image instantly attracted me. I had previously been rather suspicious of the smiling babies I saw on every billboard. Behind the marketing I found out from the web that this chair was designed years ago by an artist who, like me, hated normal high chairs, but that he had higher motives than mine; he had noticed that children are never ...
...are not familiar with the design you should know that its not just a high chair but it converts to become an ever growing chair to fit babies until fully grown Apparently he designed the prototype for his own son, and has been staggered by its success. I read some user reviews (some on here are useful and have more detail than mine) and I was convinced, without ever seeing one in the flesh, I used Google to find any "deals" on the Tripp Trapp, and ...

Superb support for babies

Advantages: Excellent support even when child is very young.
Disadvantages: Price: about £150

I bought the Stokke Tripp Trapp chair when my child was 5 months old. At the time she could not properly support herself when seated. The chair is a masterpiece of ergonomic design. Other high chairs I have tried use a harness system, which I have found diffcult to adjust. On the Tripp Trapp, the curved back support and comfortable front bar automatically hold baby snuggly and comfortably. You have to assemble the chair yourself but, though I am ...
...The chair does not have a tray (and consequently is very easy to clean). Baby sits at the table with the rest of the family. The chair is adjustable. It can be used through childhood and beyond. I have no doubts re. the durability of the chair: it is soundly constructed in solid wood. The chair does not fold away. However, it is aesthetically pleasing and fits in well with "adult" furniture. The only drawback for me is the price. I bought the chair ...

Stokke Tripp Trapp - Well worth the cost

Advantages: Child eats at the table with the family, easy to clean, well-made
Disadvantages: Not the cheapest high chair in the world!

We bought the Tripp Trapp when our daughter was 6 months old and she is now 16 months - so far we have been really pleased with it, and we fully expect that it will continue to be useful for many years to come, as it is so easily adjustable. With the addition of the 'baby set' it provides good, comfortable support for a child who is able to sit by themselves. Once the baby set is outgrown a harness can be used instead. We like it because it has ...
...table with the rest of the family. The simple, streamlined design also makes it very easy to clean. Although expensive, it adjusts as the child grows so provides good value for money in the long run. It looks more like a proper piece of furniture than yet more 'baby kit'! Which means that our kitchen feels less cluttered than if we had a dedicated high chair that wouldn't tuck away nicely under the table. It comes 'flat pack' for self assembly which ...

Stokke Tripp Trapp Chair

Advantages: Easy to clean, Long lasting, Good support for child
Disadvantages: Altering seat/foot plates

If you are a parent and looking for the best highchair for your little one, then look no further than this one. As I am someone who has looked after many children (in nurseries and as a nanny,) I felt that when I had my first child I wanted things that would last him, and any others that may come along:-) I have seen many products in the past that don't clean up well or break after a few uses. I therefore searched for hours to find products that ...
...best one I feel you can buy, I bought it for £125 which included the baby set (bar, leg strap, seat cushion and back cushion.) you get a choice of wood colours - rosewood, pine, natural, black, cherry, orange, lime, red, white, walnut and turquoise. Baby sets can be bought to match or mix two colours, harnesses and cushions come in a variety of colours to suit your tastes too. The main aim of the chair is so your baby/child can sit up at the table ...

Not solid beech, full of glue!

Advantages: Adjustable, baby can sit at table
Disadvantages: Very expensive for plywood, gives off fumes when new, would prefer the option of a tray

...but I really do think Stokke should be more explict about this. I personally think it's outrageous to charge so much for a chair which isn't even made of solid beech... I mean how difficult can it be?! Needless to say I returned it, but if it hadn't been for this, I would have been happy to use it, although I must say, I think they should give the option of a tray. I understand the rationale behind wanting your baby to sit at the table, but there ...

More than just another high chair

Advantages: Grows with your child
Disadvantages: No tray

A Stokke Tripp Trapp chair is a well designed piece of furniture that will last long after your child has grown up and left home. I bought mine when my baby was 6 months old complete with the baby kit for around £125.00. It was simple to assemble and feels very sturdy and stable. Alex was comfortable in it from to word go, and it blends in well with the rest of our furniture. It is available in a large range of wood finishes to blend in with any ...

I was very wary of this at first and almost didn't purchase it for that reason but I must say that I have not missed the tray one little bit. As your child grows, the baby kit can be removed turning it into an ordinary chair which you can easily adjust as they get taller providing them with a comfortable chair what ever stage they are at. You will never ...

You must buy one of these

Advantages: long lasting, good looking
Disadvantages: expensive but worth it

This is my top recommendation to anyone who has a baby. I prize this over everything we have bought for our child (and that is saying something ! ). Let me tell you why I like it so much ... We bought this chair when our little boy was about 6 months he is now 2 and a half, it has been used at least 3 times a day for the past 2 years. That means he has sat in this high chair over 2000 times and it still looks as good as the day we bought it. Yes ...
...baby adaptor attachments so it cost around £150 in all, but if you work it out that is less than 1p per use so far, and I envisage we will use it for at least another 3 years if not longer (my niece has one, she still uses hers and she is nearly 6). So although it costs a lot , it lasts forever, but what about the day to day practicalities.... Our little boy sits at the table to eat with us, he can partcipate in family life and share in what we ...

made for little ... and big bums!!

Advantages: good looking, well made and the kids love them
Disadvantages: NONE!!!!

...we found out about the Stokke triptrap chair. A new nursery had opened up in our town, so I went to see them to see if they knew about them, and low and behold they actually had a triptrap chair in their showroom, what a lovely piece of furniture, not really a highchair, but a multi purpose chair , made of lovely chunky wood with adjustable seat and footrest, we tried my disabled daughter in it, and it was perfect, Stokke even had a special back ...
...around her she is as safe as houses in this lovely chair, so we bought one for her and her younger sister, it came out at about £250 with the special back for one of them, but they are so worth the money, if I knew about these a while ago I would have bought these instead of my other chairs as they can be used from an early age. These chairs will do the children probably for the rest of their childhoods, and we often sit on them too, with a bit ...

Review of Stokke Tripp Trapp Chair

Tripp Trapp Chair

Advantages: baby to adult use; good posture
Disadvantages: chair can be flipped by child; difficult to get cushions off

My husband found this chair and we have been very happy with it. We live in a small house and have no where to store a high chair so we got this chair in black (to match our table) and it stays at the table with our chairs. Our son is now 12 months old and we have been using it with him since he was 6 months. We have never used the restraints on it and our son has always sat very upright in it. Other high chairs that he has sat in, he has slumped ...
...It sits right up to the table and is a perfect height. He sits with us at the table at lunch and dinner and he feels more part of the family. The Tripp Trapp is supposed to encourage good eating habits and manners from an early age as the baby eats at the table with you instead of to the side with a tray. The cost is justified by the fact that this is a good sturdy product that can be used right up to adult hood by adjusting the seat levels. The ...

The best buy I have made

Advantages: It is a peace of furniture that will be in use forever
Disadvantages: I truly did not have any, it has been perfect for us

I bought it for my daughter when she was 7 months old and we use it still every day at the age of 3. It was very easy to assemble, easy to adjust the height as the child grows, comfortable, easy to clean, with great support for the child and as time has passed, it has become more and more irreplaceable part of our home. She climbs up and down on the chair her self now, it's stable and safe. I have recommended it to every friend of mine and I have ...

Review of Stokke Tripp Trapp Chair

Great to have our baby at the table. - UPDATED

Advantages: Really solid and stable, Blends in with normal furniture
Disadvantages: Expensive compared to other high chairs

I wasn't sure when we bought this chair whether it would be more trouble that it's worth having our baby at the table with us but I did like the idea of real family meals. The reality of it has actually been great so far. My baby is still quite young but already he enjoys sitting at the table and watching us eat and it really seems as though he loves sitting at the same level as us. Another great thing about the chair is that it seems to be impossible ...
...violently and at first I was terrified that he would go over but the way it is built means that he barely moves the chair at all no matter how hard he tries. It can be a little tricky getting him into the baby seat if he is in a strop and goes rigid but usually it is very easy and is lovely not having to fiddle around with straps to make sure he is secure. All in all this has been a great buy for us and I am looking forward to using it for many ...

Design Icon.

Advantages: Value for money- Its a chair for life!
Disadvantages: The initial £125 outlay.

When we bought our first Tripp Trapp chair, friends could not understand the point of a chair that didn't come supplied with a tray. The design of the Tripp Trapp means that Hattie could sit and share our table. We now have a second child: Hattie is now nearly four and is so attached to her chair that Fred just isn't getting a look in- , so we are now purchasing a second Tripp Trapp- Anything for a quiet life! Hatties chair still looks as good as ...
...it easy to clean, the laminated birch seat and foot rest give it amazing solidity, and the curved backrest and front support encourage good posture. With its iconic design, the Tripp Trapp would look good in any kitchen or dining room- so the fact that it cant be folded when not in use is hardly a problem- on the contrary- we are proud to show it off. ...
