Advantages Advantages Good value lunch menu

Disadvantages Disadvantages Rubbish bin in full view; inaccuracies in menu

Just after 4pm on a Sunday afternoon in December, one of my sons and I were ready for a very late lunch after returning a faulty item to a shop in Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth. Being very familiar already with Cafe Rouge and two of the Italian chain restaurants, Zizzi and Pizza Express, we decided to try out Strada, even though my other son had experienced poor service there and didn't recommend it. It was a quiet time between lunch and dinner, and when we asked for a table for two the waitress pointed towards the back of the restaurant, with no suggestion of taking a table at the front of the L ... more

Advantages Advantages Amazing food, high quality, great service and they are everywhere to be enjoyed

Disadvantages Disadvantages No kids menu, the look and feel of the restaurants can be improved

I love businesses that give employees the power to delight the customer: I infuriate my family and friends by pointing these little things out, I watch how the manager treats the staff, how they interact with them and then witnessing how the staff are empowered to solve problems. I don’t even mind things going wrong as long as it is solved well enough! If you are slightly strange or work in HR like me, then you will appreciate Strada. If HR is not your bag or you are normal, then I am certain you will like it anyway. It is one of the larger restaurant chains now (71 around the UK at last ... more

    Advantages Advantages none

Disadvantages Disadvantages staff, service, food and prices.

I have had many years experiance of various Italian restaurants- all over the uk- and also abroad. I often go to Lakeside Shopping Centre- located in West Thurrock, and often end up staying until the shops close at 10pm- so I also often end up eating out there. There are lots to chose from, and myself, mother and daughter decided to book a table at Strada for mothers day- as we'd been there several times- and really enjoyed it. To start with- when we tried to book a table- as we were in the area- we went in to book in person. I asked to book- and the waitress didn't seem to understand me- so ... more

Advantages Advantages delicious food, fine wine, welcoming staff, great service, pleasant atmoshpere

Disadvantages Disadvantages They do not cook lasagna which is a pity

I recommend Strada to all of you who likes good food for very good price. Strada is a great Italian Restaurant with great food and excellent service. This restaurant offers a range of traditional pizzas, pastas and also steaks, chicken, pork and fish. Every guest is offered an old fashion bottle of complementary filter water. At Strada you can enjoy a bottle of very good quality wine for very reasonable price as well. Strada is a restaurant I can always rely on for excellent food and wine, very friendly staff, fast service and wonderful atmosphere - nice, quiet music and candles in the evening ... more

Advantages Advantages Delicious food, Friendly staff

Disadvantages Disadvantages Maybe too quiet, not really suitable for a romantic meal! Cold if they open the patio doors!

I went to the Strada restaurant in Nottingham on a Saturday Lunchtime. Although it was quiet, the atmosphere in the restaurant was very nice, maybe a bit too quiet as there was no ambient music. The staff I found very friendly and attentive. As it was a warm day, they did open the patio doors which we were sat near. However, as the restaurant was in a shady place, it was a little too cold. They did have, what I consider to be a very extensive menu. I did have a good look at the pre-theatre menu which looked very good and value for money and I would gladly go back there to try that! Off the ... more

    Advantages Advantages Delicious Italian Food

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

This is one of the most delicious chain restaurants I have ever been too. You do not always need to book to go to Strada although I would recommend doing so on weekend evenings as it can get quite busy. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and full of reccomendations. Alongside the usual menu and wine menu provided also comes the weekly specials, which are well worth a try. While this menu may seem quite small in comparison to other resturants, the quality of the food is far superior and I can guarantee there is something for everyone here. You have the option of ordering garlic bread ... more

Advantages Advantages Great food, service and experience

Disadvantages Disadvantages May be a little pricey for some, but you get what you pay for!

I visited Strada at Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth the other week for a birthday celebration. We booked a table in advance for 13 people and they were very accomodating. We were all seated upstairs on a long table - no complaints there. There place was full of atmosphere and certainlly looked very nice. One section of the table was a little wobbly, but now I'm just being picky! The first waiter came round with the wine menu and served our selections. The prices were reasonable considering (I think they start at around £18) and the bottles were kept cold in the containers. The food itself isn't ... more

Advantages Advantages good varied menu, free mineral water, tasty food, reasonable price

Disadvantages Disadvantages I can't think of any!

You must got to Strada!. I go there fairly frequently and am never dissapointed. There is a good choice on the menu, so if don't fancy the pizza or pasta there are plenty of other choice, chicken seabass, salmon to name a few. They do the most delicous baskets of bread that you must have if you go here. There's tomato and pesto or rosemary and garlic - both delicious, If you go in a big group get a basket of each to tuck into while you decide on your main meal. For starters I can recommend the motzerella and tomato salad, generous serving of motzerella and really fresh tasting tomatoes. The ... more

Advantages Advantages They give you a free bottle of complimentary water

Disadvantages Disadvantages It was quite noisy

Strada is amazing. The atmosphere and the lighting is perfect. The staff are really nice and all the food is good value for money. I used tesco club card vouchers there and this meant i could splurge out on a bottle of wine. Their pizza is huge and i nearly didn't get through all of it. I was full up at the end and didn't need a desert. When i went back their chocolate pudding was amazing. The only complaint would be i think they need more vegetarian options and more side order options. Food is prepared quite quickly but this may be due to the amazing atmosphere that is created. I haven't ... more

Advantages Advantages View of tower bridge, quick service, clean restaurant, modern

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Nothing

Arrived on a Friday lunchtime, very busy but they managed to get us a Tower Bridge view table from the second floor after a short, two minute wait. Sat down and immediately got drinks orders taken and we got brought two bottles of water. We then ordered are starters and mains. We had ragu risotto balls and garlic bread to share. The risotto balls were sensational. Hot meat source oozed into your mouth as the ball popped when you bit it. The garlic bread had a delicate hint of rosemary, so was not overpowering. For main we got penne pomodoro, which my friend said was very good. I ordered the ... more
