Ryu or Ken who shall it be?
Review of Street Fighter II (SNES) by jamesmonkey4u

Advantages: simply best ever fighting game
Disadvantages: none

...game i was about 7/8. Street fighter first came out way back in 1991, and it was by made a company called capcom they also developed resident series and many other games. The good thing about this game is you may complete it with in 2 hrs, but you wanted to complete it with each character to see all the endings which funny or touching. Story line ********** If you never have seen the films you probably dont understand the ending's to most of ... Read review

Come and have a go if you think youre hard enough
Review of Street Fighter II (SNES) by Del_Boy

Advantages: Was a brilliant, virtually arcade perfect conversion of a virtually perfect game!
Disadvantages: Too addictive!

...amount of money when the Street fighting game addiction was in its prime. All in all a wonderful game and one that I still have many fond memories of. There are ways of playing the actual arcade version(s) of this game on a PC through something called MAME. Download the game and the emulator from http://www.mame.dk I would recommend you to do this – a control pad or joystick however is essential in order to play SF2 though I reckon. This game ... Grandfather Is Slow But Still Got The Moves
Review of Street Fighter II (SNES) by scream4bruce

Advantages: Near-PERFECT arcade conversion? Good in most departments
Disadvantages: NEAR-perfect arcade conversion? Slow, slowdown

Street Fighter II first appeared in the arcades in 1991. As the title would indicate, it was in no way the first fighting game as such, but it would be responsible for defining the fighting genre with the likes of multiple characters, special moves, bosses and endings. It was also credited for the introduction of the combo, which apparently came about partly because of a glitch. The first conversion of this game appeared on the SNES. I've never experienced ... SNES SF2 ROUND 3: FIGHT!
Review of Street Fighter II (SNES) by Flash-Hammer

Advantages: Its Streetfigter 2.In its most complete form on the Snes.
Disadvantages: The Snes controller, a bit slow

With Streetfighter 2, Capcom created one of the greatest games ever. With Streetfighter 2: Turbo it somehow found a way to make it better, could they actually do the unthinkable with Super Streetfighter 2 and make the game even better? The thing that was to be the main attraction to this title over the previous versions was that there were now 4 totally new fighters added to the roster, taking it up to 16 playable fighters. The new additions ... Read review

Grandaddy of genre but better versions available
Review of Street Fighter II (SNES) by lpu97kh

Advantages: So cheap and easy to get second hand
Disadvantages: Newer version much better & similarly priced

From it's origins as the arcade punching cushion this game has come along way & is easily the leader in 2D beat-em-ups. It's rise to fame was it's conversion from arcade to the Super Nes, one of my main reasons for buying the Snes. At the time it was like nothing before. The sheer variety of characters with distinct special moves were revolutionary. Utilising all the buttons on the joypad this game allowed the used of sheer skill in the execution ... Read review

SHORYUKEN!!!
Review of Street Fighter II (SNES) by sghosh

Advantages: One of the best Beat'em ups ever
Disadvantages: A bit slow

I am not sure why a SNES game is up for review but anyway. Street Fighter II really started off true 1 on 1 fighting genre, and inspired many a fighting game like Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct, Art of Fighting, etc etc. The fluidity of the character movements and creativity that can be achieved in terms of combos are what I think the best features of this game. The graphics were, for its time, excellent, with some truly vibrant colours and excellent ... Read review

It was the don
Review of Street Fighter II (SNES) by BIGHORSE

Advantages: Classic beat-em-up
Disadvantages: Now slow and outmoded

When SFII came out on the SNES, it was big. It was huge. It threatened to blow away all competition from the Sega Megadrive, SNK's Neo-Geo etc., and totally monopolise the computer games market. It was the game that sold more Super Nintendo's than any other. It was far ahead of its time. Nowadays it may seem incredibly slow, and the graphics are no longer some of the best available on any platform, but it does still have a great place in the computer ... Read review

Classic
Review of Street Fighter II (SNES) by AdonisC

Advantages: quality
Disadvantages: old now

On one of my first visits into an arcade store I came across this game in which strange things battered the hell out of each other. the transformation on to the console was a smooth one and the succes of this game on the super nintendo console has, in my opinion, not been surpassed. The quality of graphics on the big screen are simply fantastic and the sound effects are also quite entertaining. All in all, I thoroughly recommend this game, even though ... Read review
