Advantages: Detailed, labelled illustrations. Descriptions of proper form. Disadvantages: Quite advanced, no advice on approaches to resistance training, only a reference.
Firstly let me state that this book should be approached more for reference, rather than a guide to building muscle. It is packed with fantastic illustrations of various resistance exercises, stating which muscles are used, tips and advice, and an explanation of proper form for the appropriate exercise. The book is split into 7 chapters: Arms, Shoulders, Chest, Back, Legs, Buttocks and Abdomen, and contains various exercises for almost all the muscles ... ...injuries and how to avoid and deal with them.
However, it does not contain any information about approaches to strengh training: for example rep ranges and their effect, set structure etc. For this reason i would not recommend this book for someone without this prior knowledge.
