Lady in the Night - Impreza WRX STi UK Prodrive

AdvantagesSensational acceleration

Disadvantages99.9% of drivers won't do this car justice

"...ladies and gentlemen to Mistress Subaru Impreza STi Type UK - Prodrive. Like the "experienced" woman, her looks are not to everyones liking, but there's just something bewitching about her, your just not sure. Somtimes she's a bit like the snake in The Jungle Book. From some angles she's stunning, and others are less flattering. Taking things slowly everything seems to be OK, as you get to know one another. Relaxing in each others company, you ..." Read review

Hooligans With Kids Please Sign-up Here

AdvantagesUnbelievable performance with room for the family

DisadvantagesNoisy, uncomfortable, license loser

"I've had two Subaru Imprezza Turbos now, a 2000 model (x-plate) and the newer-styled WRX from 2001 on a y-plate. Despite the newer model feeling slightly more tame than the old one and being a little easier to drive on a daily basis, one thing remained constant between both of them: you become a different person behind the wheel of this car. Normal human beings, people who'll buy you a pint when they see you in the pub, stop to say hello to you ..." Read review

Subaru Impreza WRX STI Type RA Japanese Import

Advantagesstupidly quick, boosting (that sound), handling amazing, looks great,

Disadvantageson this model lack of ABS and Air con this is not standard though!

"This was a 1996 Japanese import that spent its life as a Japanese street racing car. It was the race altered edition of the WRX STI. This meant it had no sunroof, no electrics in the front ie. windows and wing mirrors, no ABS and no air con. It did have a double din stereo and it did have a 5.5" straight through stainless steel exhaust. It was stupidly modified in the engine department and it did have creedy boost gauges. This car was brought ..." Read review

"...:) *Alloys The geeky boffins at subaru probably spent more than a few sleepless nights figuring what diameter would give the best results which is 16" by the way your probably thinking your skate board has bigger rims right?! anything over 17" is going to to make it handle like a boat! *Tyres As far as tyres go goodyear eagle f1s are just about right (they need warming up a little longer but are stickyer than your little brothers playboy ..." "SUBARU IMPREZA, say that to most teenage boys and they will drool longingly for they wish they could have one even near to them. I am lucky my father bought his about 2 years ago and we both have not tired of it yet. All i have to say to my friends is Impreza and they go and hide, crying for the day they can get one. This however can be a down side as Impreza often goes before who is driving it, yes you can go quick, ludicrously quick if you want ..." Read review

the impreza

Advantageseverything

Disadvantagesnone

"...writing a review on the subaru impreza because i had to go to a business trip and they paid me to rent out a car so i chose the subaru impreza. subaru is a very fast car and it drives like a beauty however there are downsides on the subaru, such as there is plastic everywhere. however the advantages make up for the disadvantages. the subaru is very quick in a straight line but the best thing about the subaru is it can go quick around corners. the ..." Best performance bargain ever

AdvantagesThe complete package! 0-60 5.5 secs; 0-100 14 secs; 30-70 5.2 secs

DisadvantagesBad fuel economy

"I bought my Impreza Turbo almost 2 years ago, and I can say I've enjoyed every minute of driving it. I decided to test drive the Impreza after it won the Top Gear JD Power survey 2 years on the trot. I've always driven fast cars, but wanted reliability, high residuals, and good dealer customer service. And thats what I got! I was going to order a brand new Impreza Turbo, but after I had my test drive I bought the second hand one I had just driven. ..." Read review

Subaru Impreza 2.0 WRX bug eye

AdvantagesPerformance, handling, image and torque.

Disadvantageslack of interior comforts, styling (love or hate)

"If speed is your thing then their are few choices that make sense on Britains roads. Sure there are alot of machines out there that absolutley fly when its sunny and dry but you could probably count on one hand the cars that can cope with average climate of pouring rain with brief periods of freezing ice and snow. With permanent AWD and handling that could out turn a bobsled, the impreza is up at the top of that list. All the electronics that propel ..." Read review

I love my ultra-reliable Impreza WRX but so expensive to run...

AdvantagesEngine, 4WD, reliability, Fun, forgiving to drive, phenomenal engine-braking, rare now!

DisadvantagesThirsty, only runs on super-unleaded, small boot and cabin, frequent service intervals

"Ive owned my 1995 Subaru Impreza WRX sportwagon for the last 8 years, during which time it has consistently delivered reliable, dependable and ultra-fun driving! Mine is a jap import and up to date I have driven it for almost 100 000 miles as an everyday communter for myself and my family (I have 3 children....the front bucket seat was absolutely fine with the rear facing baby seat). I initially bought it as a temporary bit of fun as I fully expected ..." Read review

AdvantagesSpacious and fast

DisadvantagesEVERYONE has one.

"I am a true petrol head and had to have a scooby. I bought a used 93 WRX Turbo. The problem is due to the grey import market they are EVERYWHERE. If you want a car that is a bit different DONT get an Impreza. If you have to have one:............... The driving position is very comfortable making it very easy to control when putting the car through its paces. With 4 wheel drive you stick to the road, however if you are not used to 4wd it can be an ..." Read review

SUBARU IMPREZA WRX PPP

AdvantagesPower

DisadvantagesFUEL

"...of this is that its Subaru approved and warranty is not affected. Downside is it costs £1600!!!! Arggghhh i know but do it. The BHP is increased to 265ps (from 225)and torque goes up to a massive 348nm...ok figures but that means a 0-60mph of 4.8 seconds(official prodrive figures)Bye bye Porsche boxter turbos! Also this takes it past the impressive STI but without all the garish gold wheels and huge spoiler(which are the biz but family car and ..." Read review

Impreza UK 300 '05' Plate

AdvantagesIncredible Performance, Spacious, Value for Money

DisadvantagesFuel consumption, Steering Weave

"...special edition produced to celebrate Subaru winning the Rally Championship or something. Only 300 were ever made/are available so it was quite good to come across with low mileage and no boy racer abuse!! Performance wise, it packs a 2.0 litre turbocharged engine with a free Prodrive Performance Pack (PPP) as standard. This gives it an extra 40bhp over standard Impreza turbos, and it certainly goes to good use as your musle your way from 0 - 60mph ..." Read review

A Great Performance bargain, recommended

AdvantagesPerformance, Fun, COmfortable

DisadvantagesDull interior; High running costs; Questionable image (?); Small/Awkward boot

"I have owned a 2003 WRX from new and really like it, and am so glad I chose it over the more obvious choices at the time. There are cars with nicer and more modern interiors, the styling is not to everybody's taste and running costs are high - but the reason you buy this car is for the performance. Huge amounts of grip, great acceleration and a fabulous exhaust note too. I have been toying with changing my car for something more luxurious or stylish, ..." Read review
