A review of Super Mario Kart for SNES.
When Super Mario Kart was released in 1993 over in the UK it went on to become a favourite of mine as well as with those whom I frequently played the game with. However, it wasn't until 2005 that I had managed to acquire the game for myself. During that time I had it on and off with this game but never did I lose that feel for Super Mario Kart - and I doubt I will.
What is neat about this racing game is the ... ...with. Then there are the Super Mario World themes running through each of the game's consistently well-designed courses (of which twenty makes for plenty); items as can be found in the Super Mario games to be picked up from question mark boxes during a race; and coins littered around the tracks which are not without their incentives either.
Apart from the likes of the well-known Invincibility Star theme, most of the music composed for Super Mario ...

...X Box, the simple little Super Nintendo (known as SNES throughout this review) is keeping me highly entertained during the holidays. Apologies to those of you who think that writing an opinion on such an old product is pointless - but hey, the category is here and I might as well make use of it!

...Remembering this is for a Super Nintendo. They were by far the best for any racing game out at that time. As the game is a Mario, the game is all bright and cheerful. The multi-player for this game is great. You can either have a race or series of races. Just as most Racing games have. Or you can have a battle mode (by personal favorite!) There great fun. The basic concept is that you play inside a maze (sort off) and you drive around trying to run ... ...successfully run over one, and then get a weapon from a selection. The weapons are accessible through all the races and grand prix, but they have more of a meaning in the battle mode. Weapons range from the speed increasing mushrooms, to shells that follow your opponent. This game is great if you still have a SNES, and do not own this game I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it! ...

Advantages: So fun it's untrue! Disadvantages: That it is to fun & ppl aren't always available to play with!
One of the first games i bought for my SNES. Also one which sold very quickly when i was selling my games [am now kicking myself for doing that]. Even now i still get cravings for the two-player battle mode. i can still remember the satisfaction of someone slipping up on your 'wall' of banana skins & getting smacked by homing koopa shell. Surprisingly for such an old game there is huge room for strategy & cunning.
Even the normal racing mode is ... ...the excitement as you can compete with each other or help each other (yeah right!). Though depending on the difficulty you may have to make an alliance so you both qualify for the next round.
Variety
The races are themed and there are a variety of tracks for each theme, eg the beach races set in water or the tough 'Bowser' tracks where there are very sharp corners [yet also the best for ambushes with nana skins & on those straights fire those shells ...

Super Mario Kart was released around the year 1995 and was one of the best racers around in it's day. The game features all the regular Super Mario characters including Super Mario, Luigi, Princess, Toadstool, Bowser and there's more but I can't remember them.
As for game modes you have an intersting championship mode where you compete for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place which will earn you a trophy and points. The higher you finish the more ... ...of fun.
Super Mario Kart is less serious than other racers and this makes it light hearted fun. The best bit about Super Mario Kart has to be the weapons which are fun to use. You get all types of weapons some which shrink all the other racers susequently slowing them down you can run over and squish them too if you really wanted too. You also get weapons like banana peels and bombs and loads more which I cannot remember and I apologize for this.

Super Mario Kart was an original fantastic driving game on the Super Nintendo. A tear almost comes to the eye as I think of the many evenings spent trying to beat the Japanese all-time records for some of the courses. The game was great because it was simple to control, incredibly addictive and yet took a very long time to get good at - all the ingredients of a fantastically addictive little game. As with Super Mario World this game has to be replayed. Go and dig it out of your loft, set it up and get comfy, you can play this for hours. The best set up is two play either against each other or in a grand prix. This is definitely classic gaming. Super Mario Kart is only second to super Mario world on my recommendations to anyone buying a SNES game. It is better than the follow up on the N64 and its simplicity is its strong points. The different options of battle games, match races, time trails and Mario grand prixs make the game enjoyable to play over and over again, with the added incentive to unlock the special cup on 150cc grand prix. Advantages: Lots of variety, good challenge, excellent lifespan Disadvantages: BASIC GRAPHICS, SHORT TRACKS
This is my favourite game of all time. On the surface it is hard to see why. The Mode 7 graphics were outstanding at the time but now they look basic, the tracks are varied in appearance but very short and it only managed two players. However, perseverence with this game led to me playing it from May 1993 right up to Christmas 1998, when I sold it, which I regret now.
The tracks are varied despite their shortness and the game has a brilliantly designed ... ...the hardest cup on the hardest setting. The battle mode and two player races were fun, and I really enjoyed the time trial mode (beat 1:37:96 on Rainbow road if you can). All of this makes for a brilliant game which I still think is better than its more advanced rivals such as F1'99, Grand Turismo and even its sequal Mario Kart 64. ...
