Not only is the internet been buzzing since the games release of how it is the best game on the Nintendo Wii console right now, but there is also a lot of discussion on whether or not this is the single best game ever (a title that would usually fall to the hands of Zelda: Ocarina of Time). Gameranking's, a website that collects reviews from all over the world and then accumulates them is worth a look as well, ... ...think it's time. Super Mario Galaxy has been a long time in the works, apparently, ever since the world was wow'ed by Mario going into 3D in the Nintendo 64 classic 'Mario 64'. ...hard" that i tried and Super Mario 64 was brilliant but i never got round to finishing it. When i got my Nintendo Wii last Christmas, i was so excited about getting it and i had picked a few particular games one of them being the brilliant Sims Castaway. I have always loved The Sims games so for the first while although Super Mario Galaxy was sitting there i hardly ever used it. After my brother's reminding me for the hundreth time how good it was ... ...This reminded me of the Super Monkey Ball games. The controller had to be moved corresponding with the way that you needed it to and this involved tilting the controller. This was probably the only thing that i didn't like about the game because its another one of those levels like in Mario Sunshine that had me wanting to throw the "Wii out the window. ...of weeks ago I purchased Super Mario Galaxy secondhand, very curious about what it was like to play (and what all the fuss was about).
I had since found out that the game is being held up as "one of the greatest games ever made", with reviews giving it nearly unanimous perfect scores, and Nintendo fanboys and fangirls creaming their pants.
So here is my take on Super Mario Galaxy.
OVERVIEW
The game takes place in a 3D universe, where Mario visits ... ...in them.
CONTROLS
Super Mario Galaxy makes use of both the Wii remote and the nunchuck controller (you won't be able to play it without the nunchuck controller). It will take a while to get used to, but I found it was quite an innovative control method.
On most occasions you'll use the nunchuck controller to move Mario around, and the Wii remote to perform actions and use an onscreen cursor. The cursor is used to point at and interact with objects, ...

===The Gameplay===
In "Galaxy", you control Mario as he makes his rounds around a plethora of galaxies, righting wrongs, saving penguins and collecting Power Stars. Having more Power Stars means he can be sent to galaxies further away from the Observatory, where he can save other cute animals, get more Power Stars and so on and so forth ... ...the default state when playing Super Mario Galaxy.
And that's the key really to making a great game. You can "finish" Super Mario Galaxy, get to an ending, as soon as you collect 60 stars. But "Galaxy" is not really about going to the Center of the Universe, getting through another superb "fortress galaxy" and kicking Bowser's tail, or rescuing the Princess As Soon As Possible. It's about visiting all these strange and wonderful galaxies, experimenting ...

Thankfully, Super Mario Galaxy is everything you could possibly want from a platforming game. The game controls superbly well, the camera is perfect, and it's a joy to play. Whenever you unlock a new galaxy, you'll want to go there, not just because you want to complete the game, but because you want to see what the developers have in store for you next. The level design is quite simply out of this world (pun intended), each galaxy is different ... ...negatives I could find with Super Mario Galaxy were the (very rarely) awkward camera, and that some of the bosses were a little repetitive, but please don't let these little niggles put you off. Super Mario Galaxy is, to put it simply, sublime, an experience every gamer should have, not just the Wii owners. Mario has jumped, or should I say, flew onto the Wii with this great title which really proves why people like Nintendo so much, and is a great return to the great platforming we've come to expect from the Mario franchise.
The plot is not too far from any other Mario game, Bowser decides once again he wants the Princess for himself. This time however he decides this will be the start of his new universe and whisks Princess Peach off into outer space ... ...the Princess, and this time, save the universe. And so this is where we begin, much like other Mario games you are given the tasks to go through various themed worlds to collect a star, and more stars open up more levels until you get to the final world, defeat Bowser and save the Princess (at least until the next Mario game!).

We are all interested in space travel. The prospect of seeing space through our own eyes is an exciting one and shrouded in mystery. The main reason why the exploration of space interests us so much is because only a select few from the human population have been in space. And once you've played on the wondrous Super Mario Galaxy, you'll soon be sending in astronaut job applications ... ...when ran into, play the Super Mario Bros "underground" theme. You control the music and I spent many a minute playing around, attempting to change how the music played out, adding in pauses and trying the notes in quick succession. At the end of this glorious event, a lovely sound is heard and a 1Up Mushroom appears from the original source of the question mark icon. A small part of the game, yes, but a slice of the excellent audio featured in this ...

...but for the first time, Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii takes him to - you guessed it - space! The game and the plot is the same as pretty much every single Mario game in existance - with Mario being invited to the palace, just in time to witness Princess Peach being kidnapped by Bowser. Only this time of course he's gone a little bit further, taking her to a far away planet! Mario soon meets up with what is called a Luma, a cute little star-like ... ...as you play the game! The Luma's are led by the beautiful Rosalina, who lives with them in the comet observatory. He soon learns that Bowser has stolen some of the stars used to power the observatory, and so he must make his way around the galaxy collecting the stars as he goes, which he can then use to power up the comet observatory in order to reach new worlds.
Sounds complicated? Well don't worry. It's Mario! Does the story really matter that ...

Super Mario Galaxies on the Nintendo Wii is the 3rd 3D Mario Platform game (after Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine). It makes full use of the wii pad, with different actions being activated with different shakes, swings, point and drag etc of the wii remote and nunchuk.
The idea of the game is Mario travels from galaxy to galaxy to collect power stars (achieved from finishing different levels, bosses and bonus levels), and of course the never ... ...Princess Toadstool. The story has quite a decent game life span.
The gameplay is ridiculously addictive with each object or planet having it's own gravity, which becomes alot of fun when jumping from small planet to planet, and can often be used to your advantage to collect objects and get away from enemies. Personally I loved this feature of the game.
Most of the move mario can do were previously used in Mario 64, with the main new feature being ...

...for, and it doesn't dissapoint, Super Mario Galaxy is possibly one of the greatest video games of all. You can't not love it, whether your a hardcore gamer or a child.
The story starts in a fairly familiar way Bowser kidnapps Princess Peach and Mario sets out to save her. However from then on Mario needs to travel into different galaxies to collect power stars, which allow Rosalina to see further on into the universe. This continues until Mario ... ...previous mario games. But after a while some gamers will be humming along to the tune.
In conclusion Super Mario Galaxy is an excellent game that I would reccomed to anyone who has a wii. And if you don't have a wii, BUY ONE, just to get this game. ...

...the side scrollers such as Super Mario Bros. So after alot of thinking about it i decided to buy it i got it at my local Game store for £29.99 which isnt too bad as most chops such as argos charge £34.99. I wasnt expecting it to be awsome or something that id like since it looked smiliar to Mario64.
And how wrong was i!!!
The first thing that blew me away where the graphics(ok there not PS3 or 360 graphics but still they're awsome) it was the first ... ...me away and it shows what the Wii can realy do. Everything in the game looks amazing such as the water , with advanced shader effects and particle effects looks every realistic not to mention the other stuff.
The game lets you create upto 8 save files(so basicly 8 people can play the game with their own saves)
The story is the same as and as it is with everyother Mario game Peach gets Kidnapped by Browser and Mario has to rescue her(nothing new ...

In Super Mario Galaxy Nintendo have once again stretched the boundaries of the Super Mario world in a similar way that they did with Super Mario 64 and this is finally a worthy successor a long line of great Mario games (that's not to say the Gamecube offering of Super Mario Sunshine was a bad game it just didn't do anything particularly new that wasn't on offer in Super Mario 64.)
The game follows the tried and tested standard story of Peach being ... ...plan to take over the world or in this case the whole galaxy, once again it's down to the trusty plumber to rescue his friend and save the galaxy in the process by completing levels and collecting stars as we've all become accustomed to.
The major change for this game is that by moving from a flat 3D world of levels to levels of spherical planets has Mario moving upside down and round the wrong way which at times leaves the gamer a little disorientated ...

...say? When I heard that Super Mario Galaxy was the next Mario adventure I thought I wouldn't take off but how wrong was I? This game has took Mario to the Centre of the Universe to save his beloved Princess Peach and on islands with Giant screaming Baby plants and to see his evil nemesis again, Bowser. This game has redefined the gaming world with its game controls and its fantastic game play among the set of numerous breath taking graphics. I know ... ...help Mario get out of the trickiest situations and make the game even more interesting to learn to controls and to master new skills.
As sales of Super Mario Galaxy increases by every day the popularity and legend increases making this game the best on the Wii, so far! ...

Super Mario is a classic format with modern graphics and game play on the wii. Once you get the hang of the controls (nunchuck to direct and various buttons to crouch etc and the controller to point and aim at 'star bits') it's very fun to play. Mario is joined by old characters Luigi and Peach and the usual baddies, but also joined by the stars and star bits. The Story starts with Princess Peach being Highjacked and Mario jumping on board for a ... ...meet Mama and the stars which are made up as star bits. Unfortunately their space ship is short of power and it is your job to collect star bits and eventually gain a power stars to give the ship more power. Each area has different planets, which have different challenges. From Bee Mario, Rainbow Mario and Ghost Mario and more makes this an evolving game and challenges you to the end... without giving anything away, make sure that you do not switch ...
