Advantages Advantages Inexpensive, functional, maximum use of space

Disadvantages Disadvantages Just look at the photograph

The Suzuki Wagon R+ is a car you instantly love or loathe! - I love mine! When I told my best mate I'd bought a pre-owned one to replace my ageing Proton Persona he said 'Well you've never bought a decent car before, so why should you break the habit of a lifetime'. I felt his comments were a bit harsh, but I could understand where he came from. You see - the Wagon R+ is a bit like a Camel - the old joke being that it's a horse designed by a committee. Take the overall design. In Japan, there was a law passed recently which drew up a maximum specification for a 'small' car - high population ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy for less mobile people to get into

Disadvantages Disadvantages No steering wheel control for the radio

As an accountant I don't usually buy a brand new car, but for the best part-ex deal on my dying Clio I decided that needs must! After trying numerous cars I decided on the Suzuki Wagon R+ Special. Initially it wasn't even on my list of cars to try but I decided to test drive it on the recommendation of a friend who has had several happy years of motoring with hers, and also because the garage happened to be near to one that I had decided to visit anyway. So what is so special about the car that swung it? SAFETY FEATURES * both the driver and passenger have airbags fitted as standard. * the ... more

Advantages Advantages Roomy, economic, eminently practical.

Disadvantages Disadvantages No alarm(!!!), high boot sill.

On his TV show, Jeremy Clarkson described the WagonR as "a wendy house on wheels". Fortunately, we don't all subscribe to the vroom-vroom culture - in fact a surprising number of us don't really want to be 18 years old all our lives. It is, of course, a question of horses for courses. I wouldn't care to habitually drive from John o'Groats to Landsend in the WagonR, but then that isn't something I do too often. As a paid-up member of the arthritic-old-gits club, I find the WagonR a revelation. It's nippy, comfortable and quite the most practical car I've ever owned. Easy to get in and out of, a ... more

Advantages Advantages Great town car, cheap insurance group, cheap tax, cheap to run, no problems since owning it, nice little MPV.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Ugly, lack of leg room in back, not ideal if you are going on a long journey.

I consider myself as fortunate, being the owner of a Suzuki Wagon R+. For my driving purposes it is ideal; I am a student and drive to my college daily, about 5 miles away from my house. I do not go very far very often, which is lucky -- driving long distances in the Wagon R is not very comfortable. This comes down almost entirely to the seating, which is stiff and board-like. For the driver and front passenger the room is fine, it's perhaps a little on the narrow side but no more than most cars of this size and price band. The Wagon R is very high, which results in odd (or shall we say ... more

Advantages Advantages Low insunance group, excellent mpg, great performance, practical, spacious

Disadvantages Disadvantages No mugaurds or mats as standard

This car has got to be the best value for money ever, with most of the best safety devices, and even more comfort ones. I like the high driving position, (enabling you to see over hedge rows, you get a better view of traffic comming in the opposite direction) it feels like your driving a range-rover, but it doesn't have the same body roll! With very little overhang, it is so easy to manouvre! The gutsy little 1.3 16 valve engine, quite hapily revs at 3000rpm at 70mph on the motorway, and is well capable of doing more than that! The ineterior is really spacious, (its hard to believe that such a ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to drive, ample boot space, easy for the older generation to get in

Disadvantages Disadvantages Take one look at it, seat belts in the front are extremely short

Although I don't own this car I drive it every day practically, it is actually owned by my parents (but I don't hold that against them). My Dad thinks this car is the best thing since sliced bread, "its simple, cheap, drives well and I can get nearly everything I want to move in it" he says. I would actually agree with most of what he's saying, it is very versatile as the seats in the back can be fully folded down or only one side, which means you can load the car with large items and still take the baby home in its car seat. Huge plus (especially if you're my Dad). There are little extras ... more

    Advantages Advantages Great Features, average

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Looks SHit!!

Well if you have economy and utility in mind look no further than the Wagon. I must admit as long as looks are concerned the Wagon looks quite like a damn box but more than makes up for it when its time to pay (installments or anything else). We decided to buy a car for my younger sister some time ago and even though the looks put us off the fact is all the other factors convinced us about our final decision. The Wagon is packed with features for a car with its price and its average is an overwhelmingly pleasant surprise. The features include all normal and standard ones like CD player ... more

Advantages Advantages Brilliant run around car

Disadvantages Disadvantages Placement of the horn

I bought the Wagon R+ new 2 months ago. My previous car was a Vauxhall Agila (same body with a different badge and engine). The Wagon is far superior mainly because of the much better engine. It's great for running around town, very nippy and easy to manoeuvre, good handling. The visibility is great because of the high seating position and even better the seat has an adjustable height facility. Plenty of space in the car itself and in the boot. If you need to carry large loads the rear seats are easy to put down and split seating is a bonus. Unlike some cars you don't have to pay extra for all ... more

    5 Stars Quick review of Suzuki Wagon R+ 1.3 by tinkerbell_pixie_dust 19/08/2007
I had a Vauxhall Agila for 3 years and relpaced it 4 and a half years ago with a Suzuki Wagon R S limited. I have found an improvment in the engine capacilty, and it only needs a service once a year. The access is excelent, especaily for my elderly mum who reaally struggles to get in and out of other cars. I have found the suzi to be 100% reliable, and with 40,000 miles behind her the only work I have had done is the front brake pads renewed. I like the flat loading boot, which allows my labrador to ... more

Advantages Advantages good driving position, good economy

Disadvantages Disadvantages firm ride due to stiff suspension, but at least its safe!

After owning and driving dozens of cars(,many four wheel drive),I have finally found the ultimate. This car is superb,it is economical, the driving position could not be bettered, and the seat (once you find how to adjust it) is the most comfortable I have come across, its like sitting in a fireside armchair!.I have only had this car a few months,so I am still getting to know it.It is excellent on the motorway and long journeys are no problem thanks to the super seat. As far as bad points the only one is the firm ride, you certainly have the feel of the road, but the stiff suspension is for safety ... more
