Tag Heuer 2000 - A Sad Tale

Advantages: Beautiful watch that makes a stylish impression
Disadvantages: Doesn't keep accurate time, very unreliable

I'd always admire Tag Heuer watches and promised myself one day I'd buy one. Eventually a big bonus came in and I treated myself to a £595 Tag Heuer 2000 with a white face. I was so proud! It really is beautiful and drew admiring comments from anyone I met. The first problem I noticed was it would lose or gain up to 5 seconds a day! This was particularly noticable in the winter, when you moved from cold outdoors to warm indoors. Contacting the official ...
...not according to the official Tag Service Centre - it needed a complete 'service' - £120 - to replace failed parts. A month later I got the watch back and carried on wearing it for another 2 years when the battery ran out. Ha-ha-ha, not really said the Service Centre; there has been a mechanical failure which will cost £110 to fix. Too good to miss

Advantages: Good looking, reliable, totally waterproof and cool to look at!
Disadvantages: Expensive. Servicing and battery changes are pricey and have to be budgeted for.

I can honestly say that I have worn this watch for 14 years night and day - apart from servicing (more about that later). I have worn it when water-skiing, diving and every other hobby I have undertaken. It is a great looking watch which still looks current today. As a female I love the fact that mine is dual colour (stainless steel and ...
...wear. I think the previous reviewer must have been really unfortunate. Mine has kept perfect time, the only time I have adjusted it is for summer / winter time adjustments. It has slowed twice and both times it went back for a new battery and a service (not bad in 14 years!). The battery has to be changed by a certified service engineer because it has to be tested as waterproof. I love this watch. It is reliable, good looking and convenient when ...
