I wouldn't recommend this car for everyday use as it is VERY tail happy in wet conditions. Excellent for track days thanks to huge amounts of power and wonderful brakes. Advantages Advantages Performance

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Overall running costs

Firstly, a new TVR Cerbera with full leather and all the options, will cost you just over £60,000. Secondly, a bare Cerbera 4.5 with no options and standard half leather, will set you back £47,000. Thirdly, you CANNOT buy a Cerbera 4.5 for £40,000!!!! Fourthly, if you have been in a Cerbera 4.5 for real, you would know that you do not turn a key, it does not use any keys! The Cerbera 4.5 uses a button, that you push and hold down for a few seconds while the car starts up. Fifthly, the engine does not roar like a jet. It is extremely smooth and quiet due to its flat plane crank-shaft similar to ... more

Advantages Advantages Wonderfull performance, stunning looks

Disadvantages Disadvantages Reliability issues, poor fuel consumption

The Tvr Cerbera 4.5 is an all out supercar for half the price of a Ferarri. For only fourty five grand you can have a rare, hand built British car which is capable of 180+mph. This was one of the main reasons for buying one. The other is a wonderfull V8 bellow from the 420bhp, 45 degree, transversed engine. Added to that the option of any colour exterior or interior you want, this is turning out to be a bit of a bargin! The customer care is also superb. They treat every one as perspective buyers, so anyone can go down to a dealer and have a good old nosey about. If on the other hand like me ... more

    Advantages Advantages looks

    Disadvantages Disadvantages wing mirror handle

this car is one of the best around today. It is also one of the fastest with a 0-60mph time of 3.9seconds. thats lighting. The looks of this car are also amazing and i have noticed that many people stare at you as you are driving round in your beatiful TVR. The one thing that i don't like about this car is the way in which the doors open. The handle is on the wing mirror for christ sake. When you are trying to get into the car people think what the hell is he trying do. but this is an advantage as people who want to try and nick the car and believe me many people do, they don't know how to ... more

Advantages Advantages It's English,it's fast and it's cheap

Disadvantages Disadvantages running cost and likelyhood to malfunction

the 4.5 v8 is a god send, plenty of power, plenty of noise and a quality feel to it. i'm on my second cerbera now (the first was the 4.2) i?ve driven lots of sports coupe's but the blackpool rocket has to be the best value for money. you can get one second hand for the same price as a mondeo estate. new they are a maximum of £58,000.i would strongly recommend anyone to buy a cerbera if they have owned or driven, for a long period of time, a very powerful sports car, this car is not for novices as a heavy right foot is likely to lead to a change of trousers. excellent car can't be praised ... more

    Advantages Advantages Looks, sound.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Incredibly unreliable, dreadful after sales service.

Lordy. This may be one of the most beautiful cars ever designed and the sound of the engine is to die for, but if you value your sanity, DO NOT TOUCH IT WITH A BARGEPOLE! Trying to be sensible, we at first opted for a 4.2 (!). Yes it had reliability problems and an addiction to going back to the garage, but like malaria, once you have fallen for a TVR, you are a bit stuck with the problem! A year later, we "upgraded" to an almost new 4.5. Gorgeous, sexy, stunning looks... Well it had to have because it spent most of its time sitting parked beside the house refusing to move. Every trip to the ... more

Advantages Advantages Fast, stylish and loud

Disadvantages Disadvantages expensive to keep running

Although it was helpful to have a bottomless wallet and a mobile mechanic following me around I would never give up the time I spent driving my TVR Cerbera. The Cerbera is not only an amazing looking car it drives superb, holding the road like there is glue on the tyres and as fast as some of the most expensive sports cars on the road. A comfortable driving position and a good all round view, dispite such small windows make you take the long way home every time. Roomy in the front but not so much in the back, so either keep the back seat for the shopping or give your kids something to stop ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap, Stunning and Fast

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

The TVR Cerbera is one of the best cars I have ever been in. At only £40.000 on the road it is probably the best value sports car on the market. Not only is it stunning to look at, it also has a brilliant interior. Although at first sights the dashboard looks bizarre, it works remarkably well and shows real flair and innovation. The dials are truly beautiful and all functions are available without taking your hands off the steering wheel. If you cannot afford a Ferrari, this is the sports car to go for. ... more

    Advantages Advantages NOISE

Disadvantages Disadvantages not cheap to run

Your first impressoin of the cerbera is just how good it looks. Get in, and you know you're in for an awesome experience. Turn the key and sure enough... Standing next to a rolls-royce jet engine during take-off is the only thing that gets close to the noise. Continuing, you HAVE to floor the accelerator - gentle driving is not an option. The wheels spin, grap traction and the horizon is forced to take a step back, to stop you plwing into it. Short of stepping out in front of a train, there is nothing to match the acceleration. The handlings good, the interiors wacky, and the styling gorgeous ... more
