T's the one for me!

Advantages: Great people, atmosphere, bands & fun!
Disadvantages: Unpredictable weather, location if you're far away

...had another fabulous weekend at T in the Park. In this review, I shall endeavour to persuade you that T is the greatest festival in Scotland & is 2nd only to Glastonbury in the UK's top festivals! History ------------------------------------ T in the Park was a joint venture by DF Concerts & Tennants Lager to bring a new, large scale, multi stage music event to the Scottish music calendar. The first T in the Park took place in July 1994 at Strathclyde ...
...part of the festival, right? T in the Park are renowned for not only bringing the top bands of the moment to Scotland but also bringing us legendary headliners & new up & coming talent! Over the last 12 years, they've brought us (in no particular order) Foo Fighters, Green Day, Coldplay, Oasis, Blur, Stereophonics, Manic Street Preachers, Ian Brown, James Brown, Happy Mondays, Black Grape, Cypress Hill, Snoop Dogg, A Tribe Called Quest, Black Eyed ...

T for 2001

Advantages: Good music Good atmosphere
Disadvantages: Weather unpredictable

T in the Park has become one of the biggest festivals in Britain in a very short time. This year, ”The Main Event” is over two days: Saturday the 7th and Sunday the 8th of July, At Balado, near Kinross. Over the two days you will be able to choose between eight stages, over 100 acts and about seven toilets. As usual, campers will be advised to get in at the earliest opperchancity in order to get the best pitch. (Basics only are advised, ...
...events like these) The main stage and stage two are where the most popular, (or biggest draws) will appear. Slam tent is where the DJ’s and techno-garage-house type of stuff will be going on and Kink Tut’s tent has a lot of “happening” acts doing their stuff. Saturday (7th) Main stage acts include Steriophonics (Headlining), David Gray, James, The Dandy Warhols, Shed Seven and many more. Stage two has Catatonia, Paul Weller ...

More T, Vicar...

Advantages: Atmosphere, great bands, just a silly weekend
Disadvantages: Take as granted - it will rain. Heavily.

T in the Park. A name synonomous with ridiculous excess, self abuse, bad weather and a bit of music in there somewhere too. I am a hardened veteran of three T in the Parks, having been the last three years and can honestly say that for a weekend of utter decadence and wild self indulgence you will find no better alternative than Scotlands biggest festival. For the last few years it has been held on farmland at Balado in Kinross. Shuttle buses run ...
...usually very little trouble at T in the Park, I've behaved like a total tosser everytime I've went so feel free to cut about like an idiot. Everyone else will be doing the same so there will be no hassle. The festival setup comprises several stages dotted about all over the site. For the dance music fans there is the Slam Tent, a huge marquee filled with roughly 1000 sweaty bouncing maniacs at any one time. Acts over the last few years have included ...

not great at all

Advantages: good bands
Disadvantages: awful campsites, venue far away from tents, wet

The question has to asked, who's idea was it to hold an outdoor festival in Scotland? I have however been twice. The first year the campsite was grim. There were far too many people crammed into the one space and the smell of rotting food was rank. Most of the taps stopped working halfway through through the weekend and the toilets in one site overflowed washing away several tents - so be warned. The other down is the weather, Scotland does tend ...

T in the Park 2000, where you there?

Advantages: Great Music with a Great atmosphere
Disadvantages: The unpredictable British weather

T in the Park 2000! If you weren't there you missed out on an amazing experience. This festival is one of the most Northerly in Britian and is perfect for those among us who can't get down South for the likes of Glastonbury. Ok so you have to expect the unexpected, weather included. This year it did rain, it did get muddy but it certainly didn't dampen our spirits. The selection of music covered nearly all tastes from Lulu to Death in Vegas. Some ...
...Get your tickets well in advance because yet again the festival was a sell out. Take a good tent and camp the weekend But most of all have a great time, enjoy yourself and then come home and start preparing for next year's T in the Park! ...

Rain in the park

Advantages: Good bands
Disadvantages: rain

It rained almost throughout T in the park last week but everyone still managed to have a good time due to good performances by many bands and the Scottish crowd who always seem to enjoy themselves. Scotland's answer to Glastonbury was headlined by Moby and Travis. Moby did as we have come to expect from him and put on a great show and Travis also gave a memorable performance. Other highlights included The Flaming Lips who headlined the King Tut's ...

T in the Park 2004

Advantages: Great lineup
Disadvantages: Too many "unfavourable types"

Coming from Kent, T in the Park was probably the worst choice of festival in terms of travel in the UK. This was only my 2nd festival after going to V2003. Following our torturous coach journey up to T, by coach, we arrived on Friday evening to find a sea of tents with few and far between gaps. When we found a small spot we set up our tent and began the drinking! The festival music was brilliant. The highlights included Muse, Franz Ferdinand, The ...
...the people who went to T were generally very friendly, fun people. From my personal experiance I had no problems, but the general opinion with people I have talked to about T, was that there were quite a few fights and the like going on. Fortunately, I managed to avoid this, and I suspect most people can if they are reasonably sensible. Booze is expensive, as it is at all festivals, so bring your own. Also, its a hassle having to queue up for it ...

From a Festival Virgin

Advantages: sound quality/variety
Disadvantages: cramped camping & litter

As a festival virgin I was pretty anxious about the whole experience. I was particularly worried about the washing and toilet facilities due to the horror stories that I'd heard and read about. I remained pleasantly surprised the whole weekend. The campsites were pretty crowded but to the envy of my friends I was safely tucked away in one of the staff sites which were clean, quiet and friendly. I wasn't impressed by the headliners but found the tents ...

Summer Holiday in a field

Advantages: Great bands throughout the day
Disadvantages: Price of food and drink

I’ve been going to T in the Park religiously for the past 6 years and I’ve never came home disappointed. Some years I have not liked the headline acts but there are plenty of good bands on during the day to keep you all amused. It’s sure to rain at some point over the weekend but if you are lucky you will get sunburned as well as soaked. The burgers and chips are over priced, as is the drink, but you have to go with the attitude that it is a summer ...
...anyway. For the full T in the Park experience I would suggest taking your tent up on the Friday afternoon as the camp site really helps make the weekend. There is a lot of friendliness about the whole place and T in the Park has repeatedly had the lowest crime rate of all the UK festivals. The only down side to this years festival is that they are making it quite hard to get a hold of tickets so if you are interested I would suggest having a look ...

T in the Park 2004 cannot be missed

Advantages: fantastic music, beer, people ..... what more d'ya want?
Disadvantages: dodgy Scottish weather - but this year the sun will shine like never b4

Being a seasoned T in the Parker, i can safely say this one is going to be the best ever.... The line up so far is fantastic and will suit all music tastes from David Bowie to Pink, the Darkness to Faithless, Snowpatrol to the Pixies, Jet to the Strokes, the list is endless. T in the Park takes place in a big field near Kinross, Scotland and is the only proper music festival in Scotland. It's on 10th and 11th July 2004 and U need to be there.... ...
...the sponsors finest brew - T not tea, u will not even notice - i promise (??) T in the Park is well worth a visit to a beautiful part of Scotland for a weekend of brilliant music, atmosphere and people. And the sun will shine for u all, ive had a word ;-) See u all there x ...

A great time to be had!

Advantages: Normally a great line up, great atmosphere, cheapest alcohol for a UK festival!
Disadvantages: weather could do anything

Having made my first T in the Park visit last year, I am returning this year for a second dose of the action. That for a start shows that something must be right. A terrific line up last year, including Oasis, Greenday, Foos Fighters, and the Chemical Brothers made it all the more enjoyable. And the weather was terrific too. Having been warned about the weather, and how muddy it could get, I was quite surprised to find that by the end of the weekend ...
...the same occurs this year. While perhaps not being the easiest place to get to, the surroundings are certainly fitting, and you do feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, which adds something extra to the weekend. One important factor that was certainly positive was the fact that the lager is the cheapest out of all UK festivals, while still not being extremely cheap. You are advised to bring your own supplies, especially if you have a camping ...
