This is my first foray into the world of the pocket pc and I have to say i'm delighted - but then I'm easily pleased. Think of this as a mini laptop first, its got word, excel etc which is very useable. Connectivity is very good Wifi, bluetooth (no problems dispite previous review) and IR which I have not used.The phone works well with a good contact list.The loudspeaker is weak, for example the Sony Ericsson W810i is much better, also the camera is almost usless indoors even if you alter the settings.This may seem a negative review, but I am generally impressed with is ablities as a mini laptop so treat it as such it MUST BE PROTECTED it is not as robust as a normal mobile ...

I've had mine now for over 2 years. The only thing I don't like about it is that I can't send SMSs with just my thumb like a "regular" phone, but I love everything else about it! Fantastic piece of kit, way ahead of its time, and forerunner to the iPhone. Wish I could afford the new Vario3! ...

MDA Vario is very well built as a combination of PDA and mobile phone. It is small enough to take it into your pocket and on the other hand it has a use as a good PDA. Vario is fast enough so i hadnt to wait for opening messages or start dialing. It has a Wifi so it is no problem to use it for browsing but the screen is small to have good view on the websites. The Mda Vario is very easy to use and has fantastic speaker quality and a good touchscreen but the drawback is the connectivity. You cannot recieve using bluetooth from another phone such as a nokia 7250i and sending has the same problem i had to pay for software to be able to send and even that has problems. the infared is just as bad, sending music files is a real hassle and has never worked for me and recieving using infared is very very slow ...
