    After being with a rather slow (512K) and relatively expensive (£15.99) but very reliable broadband provider I decided that I would finally get round to changing to a better deal. I spent some weeks making the final decision as there are so many offers going round and quite frankly I am a busy person. I soon realised that the only really good deal that gives you long-term value was TalkTalk. They also require you to switch to them as your telecoms provider at a slightly lower cost than BT's equivalent product, but with free international calls to a good range of countries also very kindly ... more

    TalkTalk - cheap, poor quality of service, many mistakes made by managers, awful customer service. TalkTalk is one of the first companies I have had the misfortune of dealing with. I first went with them about 4 years ago as they were cheaper than the competition, and I soon realised why as I had nothing but problems for about 3 months. I was on the phone to their Customer Service on a near daily basis trying to get the problems fixed, but despite them acknowledging the problem they seemed to do little to solve the problems, and continued to charge me for the 'service'.     I find this a good opportunity to warn people about talk talk and should be very honest about the my the worst experience in my life. I was first with tesco dial up and as every one know it was very slow connection and for the bt it is very expensive so i looked around for a better dial.     Well, what can I say about TalkTalk.co.uk, I was unfortunate enough to use this as my ISP for 12 months due to the contract so I can say quite a bit, unfortunately not much of it being good. SERVICES. TalkTalk.net to site for users of the internet service is rarther poor and gives little information and features in my oppinion, other than basically activating your webspace and setting up your email. Talk Talk are incapable of even providing simple services such as a static IP, this may not affect many users but goes to show how limited their range of services is when you consider that most ... more

    I signed up to talktalk a couple of months ago for talk3 international, as I was told I would get free broadband at a minimum speed of 2 and a half meg, free calls to Europe and free local and national calls 24/7. The phoneline is brilliant, can't fault it. My parents moved to Cyprus so I can call them regularly for free, as long as i hang up before 70 minutes, as with local and national calls. I have friends on talktalk and I can chat to them for free as long as I hang up within 3 hours. What more can you ask for? I waited in anticipation for my free broadband to be connected.     Disadvantages Disadvantages initial problem with transfering the phone service at the same time

    Had TalkTalk for about a year now, and been pretty pleased overall. When i signed up it was on a 1 year contract for a price of £14.99 a month with off peak landline calls included free for a year (i just had to pay line rental of £10.50 a month). The connection and equipment were free. I initially had a problem getting online ,so i had to phone customer services, they answered the phone quickly, and when i told them i could'nt connect my broadband service they worked out that i had a virus on my P.C.     I transfered to TalkTalk summer last year. Yes I consider it was a great deal.........Phone line rental, free calls and broadband for £21 month...WOW Trouble is I am begining to wonder whether it was worth it. The broadband connection is slow. Very slow for being in a modern exchange etc etc. And errr yes they seem to blame the BT exchange every time there is a problem. I have constant connection problems. There is not a week goes by that I dont suffer with either an internet connection problem or an email problem...I spend a fortune on their technical support line! Thats another bad thing ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Can be slow during peak hours, the broadband itself and the customer service helpline!

    As already covered in my review of TalkTalk Landline: "When I moved into my first little flat with my friend, we wanted access to the Internet, and after looking around for a good deal I decided to go with TalkTalk, as my dad had used them for broadband and they seemed (reasonably) reliable. I noted that they had a deal whereby if you switched landlines to their service, you could have a cheaper broadband deal. Anyway, more on that in my review on TalkTalk Broadband!"     Well, where do I start. Just over a year ago I took out a 1 year contract with TalkTalk, I paid for an unlimited broadband service. for the first 3 months everything went ok, i was downloading things at around 50kbs for my half meg connection speed. Then after 3 months i could not download anything from p2p software after 4pm. I complained to talktalk, after phoning them, and left on hold for ages, i was told that restrictions were now in place for customers between the hours of 4pm and midnight. I told them this was no good to me as i am a full time worker and only use broadband after 4pm ... more
