The oldest looking piece of kit I use at work is this monitor. Taxan is part of a Japanese electronic company who have been around since 1981 and have been a leading producer of monitors. This CRT (cathode ray tube) monitor works by basically firing electron beams through a vacuum at a screen to produce a picture. This picture is what we see when we look at a monitor.

This monitor is a bit old school for me, it weighs as much as a death star if your trying to move it and nearly takes up as much room as one to. Advantages: Good shape,display Disadvantages: overpriced, mine was unstable
I bought a Taxan monitor 2 years ago. It was a smart looking monitor in my opinion and also had a useful USB hub on the base. The monitor achieved the TCO99 standards for the display . Prior to buying the Taxan I had looked upon it as superior in the world of CRT displays alot of this idea may have come from the fact that it had a superior price. When I received the monitor I thought it was very curvy and had a big chunky power button but I was pleased ... ...decided I should send my Taxan back to get repaired because I had a 3 year warranty. I was required to pay to send it to them and then a week later I got the monitor back. Now Ive got 2 screens which is useful for my networking Im going to do but its a pity I had to shell out when the firt one was becoming unuseable. I suppose this could happen with any brand of monitor. Ive had 4 monitors so far and this has been the worst for performance so I felt ...
